^^ Echo the sentiment about our Life President.
On rather more mundane matters, Torres apparently wants £16 million to leave.

So apparently AC Milan are interested in Torres, but he wants a permanent deal, not a loan, meaning he will get a hefty pay off from Chelsea.
I suppose another option is to make up the wage he earns with Milan to what it would have been if he stays. We're no worse off that way, as we're contactually committed to paying him anyway. The fact he's not here but getting paid doesn't matter - as we're all aware he couldn't score in a brothel, so no sense in fielding him.I really do hope that the lesson sinks in for Abramovich. He's wasted £50 million in transfer fees, plus £10 million odd a year in wages, all for a vanity signing. You'd have thought he'd have learned a bit after the Shevchenko debacle.

Ye still look like ye are going to win it this year lads, ye don't seem to have to worry about financial fair play, and Torres got an odd goal. Do cheer up

He's sunk £1bil odd into a football club that is worth £500 according to Forbes http://www.forbes.com/soccer-valuations/ .....so you could say his vanity has cost him £500mil so far. Not sure he's that bothered!Cheib said:

Not sure if I'm misreading, but your link says we're worth nearly £900 million? So it's cost him about the same as Man U's summer spending so far However judging by his reactions during the game on Saturday, I really don't think he's too bothered as you say.
As for Torres the sooner he moves on the better imo. Hard to hate the guy, as his attitude and professionalism have been top notch, sadly his skills and confidence have deserted him, and it's getting quite painful to watch. He needs a fresh start in a slower league, and we could do without the millstone of his wages round our neck....

Yeah definitely. Especially now that we seem to have found a proper striker in Diego Costa.
Costa, allegedly, has done his hamstring again in training. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/ch...
