Do you have a source for this ? i'd be interested to see it.
I take it it doesn't feature the 30 odd or so players Chelsea have out on loan.
That of course doesn't give the full pictureI take it it doesn't feature the 30 odd or so players Chelsea have out on loan.
Chelseas wage roll is £179m Spurs is £96m.
Then dig a little deeper, Spurs net debt £55m chelsea's £958m
So yes leagues apart, Financial doping at its finest.

Fan of billionaire owned club calling the club owned by another billionaire cancerous irony.
I'm not saying you did.
What will be interesting will be how you raise finances to fund your new stadium, if you ever do as the planning consent is timing out as it's yet to be implemented/banked.
The construction market is now against you as contractors are very risk averse and unlikely to bid on single stage contracts. That leaves Spurs with a significant risk of cost increase on the total cost of the build.

It's only a £55m net debt simply down to the way uncle Joe structured it.

Joe Lewis doesn't bankroll Tottenham, he doesn't even go its an investment pure and simple and is therefore run as a business. Comparing him to Abromvich is ridiculous. Fan of billionaire owned club calling the club owned by another billionaire cancerous irony.
As for the stadium as i've said countless times it will never be built under lewis/levy.

So you're saying that Joe Lewis runs THFC as a business whereas Abromovich runs CFC more as a football club run by a fan?jammy_basturd said:

Joe lewis doesn't run Tottenham levy does, Lewis owns the company that owns the club he hasn't bank rolled us to any extent in fact he's earn't a (not so small) fortune from Tottenham, he's not a 'football man' or a 'fan'. Abromovic has spent a billion quid creating a club.
Comparing the way the clubs operate is completely misleading but then I suspect that was the point..

Wow. The more I'm learning about your owners the more I'm liking Abramovich. When Man Utd had owners like yours they started wearing green and yellow scarves.Abromovic has spent a billion quid creating a club.

It's interesting how you've regressed over the last 10 years. I guess that's the effect of having Citeh now competing with you for the best player's, rather than having the transfer market pretty much to yourself 10 years ago? And, is it only Premier League teams that can buy in the transfer market? I always thought Chelsea were competing against Real and Barca (amongst others) for the best players?

That said I certainly wouldn't want an Abromovich or Mansour in charge of the club.

Well quite, you guys are struggling to lay the first brick on a new stadium. Imagine the furore if you had to change your plans to include a trophy room!
The stadium will only be built when Uncle joe & his second lieutenant sell the club with deeds & planning permission intact..jammy_basturd said:

Anyway, I guess the point is that players such as Toure, Silva, Kompany, Aguerro etc are the players that Chelsea would have signed, had Abu Dhabi Citeh not existed, hence their squad quality has diminished from 10 years ago.

well we've still won more major trophies than city and Chelsea only recently passed us and it took a billion quid to do that. Well, Oscar and Makelele have different roles, so hard to compare. Ivanovic I would argue is better than Gallas. Cahill no better or worse than Carvalho. Courtois no better or worse than Cech, with more potential.
So of the team of 10 years ago, the only players I'd definitely take over today's team are Robben, Lampard and Drogba.

I'll give you Duff However, with the exception of Duff, Cole and Ferreira, man for man, the team of 10 years ago is better than today's.Cahill vs Carvalho
Azpilcueta vs Gallas
Oscar vs Robben
Coutrois vs Cech
Fabregas vs Lampard
Costa vs Drogba
Terry vs Terry
I would struggle to pick between these options and these are the only ones that aren't clear wins for the new team. Hardly a massive regression.
