This game as been brilliant. The only let down has been the ref.
Spot on Garry. He was poor in the last match I watched and he bottled several decisions tonight. Costa, Lucas, Henderson and Skrtel all should have gone.

Enjoyed that. The ref bottled every big decision but it was still a good game.

I just hope the injury to Cesc is nothing to worry about and that there is plenty in the tank for Saturday.
And Filipe Luis too. I thought he was good tonight. Again.

OK I know Ivan got the goal, but I'd like to see what we look like with Dave on the right and Filipe Luis on the left of the back four.

Completely agree, too many decisions he should of made and bottled. Not just him though the 2 linesman and the 4th offical could of all made those decisions too.

He totally bottled making any decision. He looked about 12 though!

On a point of pedantry, no they can't. Only the ref can give decisions, although the rest can make recommendations which he can follow or ignore as he sees fit.

Zouma was great last night, had that one moment when he mistimed his header but he did recover. Wouldn't be surprised if he starts ahead of Cahill for the City game.

I was going to compliment Zouma too, he looked like a talented player who is just going to improve - those little misjudgements will go, and as it is he's usually got enough pace and ability to fix the situation. That run back and tackle on Sterling - hardly a slowcoach - was ace (notwithstanding it came from an error).

Correct, Twig, they can assist him with his decisions through their connected earpieces. That said, the fourth official last night was Phil Dowd who struggles with decisions when he's in the middle anyway, let alone off the pitch.

Can't help thinking Can didn't help himself either (sadly). He had been fouled (just) then as Costa went to get the ball, he knocked it away and Costa stood on him. One minute he's hurt then next minute he's up and confronting Costa for what he had done. The ref could not have failed to pick up mixed messages there.

Well Costa charged with violent conduct and will probably miss Saturday now. Amazing the red could be so utterly hopeless and yet after the event decides to take some action. Big blow for Saturday. Can't see us scoring without Costa.

I imagine he will be a marked man with this now - Defenders will also know how easily he gets wound up too

You know i'm no Chelsea fan but i am a huge fan of Costa , he just has that something about him that tells his oppo that i'm here to score goals & i will not just roll over & be intimidated.

Chelsea have till tomorrow to appeal & i guess if they do he'll play at the weekend.

The way the game is going these day's i wouldn't be surprised if the whole The game goes completely non contact in a few years time .

Skrtel and co spent much time winding him up with constant fouls.

I'd be surprised if we don't appeal - for one thing there's surely enough doubt to justify it (he was looking the wrong way), and I think he'd then be able to play the Citeh game; we otherwise have a fairly 'easy' run of games (as much as there is such a thing) until Southampton at home mid March.

This went unpunished by the FA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ih8V2ldXsmU

So Costa should definitely be let off in this instance.

There's not a lot in that though, Aguero clearly goes for the balls.

If the FA have charged him then he will be found guilty , The decision lies with Chelsea wether they want him to play against City & then lose him for an extra game.

I don't think he's done much wrong , just part of the game In my opinion.

I am sorry that is not part of the game - its was a clear stamp on his ankle
Whether that be a Chelsea player or A Liverpool play who done it - it should be a ban - could put someone out the game for a while going over there ankle like that
