When I watch Chelsea and Ramires is playing, I never have any idea about what he's there for. Besides the goal against Barcelona years ago I don't think I've seen him do anything worthwhile, ever.
Precisely this. John Barnes syndrome.

Watch the Mourinho video from about 1 minute through. He seemed to think Ramires did ok.

Bloody hell, you're not wrong

Some of that is probably injuries but it's pretty consistant isn't it.

I'd say Mourinho's desire to keep a tight squad and not rotate are probably the issues right now.

He loves anyone who can get up and down the pitch. If ride on mowers were allowed, the fking groundsman would be in the side.

Great match in u/18 youth cup tonight. 2-0 down from the 1st leg, the mighty blues won 5-2 on the night, 5-4 on agg. Our 4th final on the trot awaits.

Maybe one day you'll even get one of them in to the first team

Has Mourinho ever played a youth team player brought through the ranks more than a couple of times ?

I'm sure Terry would have been a first team regular when Jose took over first time round.

Congrates on reaching the final btw

It's a real problem. Without sounding glib, it's difficult when every game is crucial. When you're mid table and you're safe from relegation and you aren't challenging for Europe, you can do it. But with us, every game is mega, so trying out youngsters is hard. Jose even takes the Capital One cup seriously.

I do hope we bring Patrick Bamford back and give him an extended run. He looks top drawer.

So is the answer to the question "No" then Twig ?

Ryan Bertrand perhaps. But in the main, you're correct.

Arguably Bertrand has been one of the best left backs in the country this year. There was no need to sell him and fork out for Filipe Luís. I think now is the perfect time to blood a few youngsters, would love to see Ruben Loftus Cheek alongside matic.

Is it? If they don't perform well, it could cost us the league title.

How many regular starters within the big 6 clubs have come through their respective youth systems? Not many.
