When Herrera went down right at the end, that was a heart in mouth moment.
Indeed. Great call by the ref. I thought it was a stonewall pen until I saw the replay. When Man U won the league 2 yrs ago, I said they were the worst team ever to win it. That's a title we might take off them this season. Just dire.

Zouma is getting better game by game. He has the potential to become a top class player.
fking hell, is this a Chelsea fans thread or not? Pretty much every team that have won the league have had a period of bad form, how you deal with it is the mark of a champion. We played some brilliant stuff when we had a fully fit squad and only the prem to focus on, Jose is getting us over the line in less than perfect circumstances. That's his job. there's no points for possession....

Exactly. Everyone is praising Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal at the moment whilst conveniently forgetting they were crap in the earlier stagesNegative Creep said:

I hope we sign another top name striker for next season, rumours of Douglas Costa signing for us. Patrick Bamford been great for Boro, but if they get promoted to the EPL, another season on loan would be good for him.

You're being too hard on your team I think. I'm a Man United fan, stumbling is what you've got to do now, it's what is required with your team not playing well.Fabregas and Costa were stunning signings, Matic your finest I think but before this season. You easily forget the first part of the season with the latest stumbling bus football.
The team at the top deserves it.

We've had a few iffy games recently, but got the results. But not yesterday. There was a plan. There was an objective. It was executed to perfection, United frankly didn't get a look in for all that possession. It's easy to forget the way the team were playing earlier in the season.
Highest scorers, 2nd lowest conceded. 4 defeats less then anyone else. It may not be pretty, but Mourhino is a winner.

I'd love us to play free flowing, winning, confident football for 38 games but we know that's not possible. Even Barca/Real/Bayern can't do that, and lets face it, domestically they have a much easier situation than a PL team. So grinding out a result against the form team in the league, when you are missing your top two (of three) strikers, is just as significant as outscoring Everton 3-6, and Swansea 4-2 then 0-5.
Next few games should be interesting; first another form team, away, someone we usually have something of a hoodoo over. I'd almost accept our third defeat of the season to them, but more than likely Jose will find a way - as he so often does - of getting something out of the match. Leicester will be tricky too, but as a form side playing for their PL lives I think we'll get some chances and take them. That leaves Liverpool as the only 'name' club to play us, and we may have the title more or less wrapped up by then with them chasing the final CL spot - but I hope we smash them, because I just massively dislike them and their fans who bang on about history 30 years out of date

It was executed to perfection, United frankly didn't get a look in for all that possession. That was a match we could, and probably should have lost. I don't buy this after the event "if was part of my masterplan" rubbish from Jose. I fully accept it was a game we didn't have to win, and they did, so sit back and hit them on the break, and that may have been his plan. But I don't think he was happy for us to be so completely dominated for long periods of the game. And overrun in midfield.
