Pathetic. Lucky to finish in the top four at this rate.

Time for a wager?
Wm Hill have Chelsea as second favourites for the title now. 7/2.
Has to be worth a punt. They can't maintain this form all season.
Can they?
Chelsea were quite poor in the last few months of last season, so this isn't just a new season form thing.

Just watched Jose's post match interview... 'Chelsea the better team in the 2nd half'... was he watching the same match?

He's always going to say something like that. It's the Fergie school of management. Of course they were awful just less awful than the first half. Hopefully this will be a wake up call to the club to see they need reinforcements, in attack and defence.

Some of our senior players looking a bit leggy - look at Iva and Terry.

Perhaps a few games with our younger reinforcements starting would do us well.

Agree Ivan has been poor in both games. Last week Montero ran rings around him. The new RB can't come quick enough. We still are in desperate need of a striker with some pace. I think the lack of pace at the back was exposed today and maybe Stones for £30mil won't be too stupid in the long term.

Apparently you have signed a left back called Baba Rahman, Know nothing about him, I'm sure Sye from the Liverpool thread will be along to tell you all about him.

Someone has too much time on their hands at BBC Sport's Twitter department.

Last 6 League defeats for #CFC:

Pulis, Poyet, Pardew, Pochettino, Pulis, Pellegrini

Next 2 games: Pulis & Pardew

Not a single win in pre season is not good - whats wrong chaps? I know its only pre season but that is not the norm for you guys is it?
Still playing like the back of last season...no flair, no pace, no striker.

Seeing Falcao in the CS was like watching a rerun of Torres I'm afraid. No pace, no sharpness, nothing sticks, can't beat a man.....

We're doomed I tell ya doomed...
I told ya ... we're doomed....

A temporary blip at best. Mourinho trying to get the club to open its coffers.

Chelsea have some quality quality players and they haven't gone rubbish overnight.

A short pre season and a bit of Mourinho trying to get some funds released is my best guess. You will be there or there abouts come the end of the season.

City do look pretty good though.

Sorry, are you saying JM is deliberately losing or setting team up wrong to get some more transfer funds?

I don't know if that is what he is saying.... but yes I believe JM would do this.

Having said that the team he sent out yesterday was not far off his strongest. The back 4 was the same as last season, with the exception of Ramires the rest was the same. The only real change was Begovic & he was faultless.

Some observations.....

Ivanovic .... way off the pace... incapable at present of getting a cross past the 1st man
Apzi ..... shortcomings of playing a right footer on the left is very evident when going forward
Fabregas.... think he's a busted flush, produced nothing since late last year.
Terry/Cahill... will always struggle against pacey teams running at them

Going forward... far too often Hazard, Willian or Costa are just isolated, not enough support coming through from others.

So changes required.... Rahman should help at the back. Against pacey teams, Zouma must play at centre back. We need competition for Fabregas. We need an Oscar/Ramires replacement/cover. We need another forward. So 3 signings, needed in next 2 weeks if we want to compete. I don't see Stones as a solution to any problem.

You're right, they haven't. Chelsea looked an incredibly strong side in the first half of last season, and I think it's to that side most are comparing current form to. In reality, Fabregas and Costa went off the boil in the New Year and Chelsea limped to the title in the final months on the season.

The form in the last two games is just a continuation of that.

Agree with most of this though think Stones would be a solution to the problem that Terry is going to lose more pace over time and will need replacing. Cahill still has his liability moments. Zouma is awesome and should play more and yes Azpili needs to play on the right so when Rahman joins that will bring more balance. I also agree we need another striker and creative midfielder asap, and the worry for me is that there has been no movement in the market over the past month or so other than towards Man Utd.

Also agree with Jammy's assessment, last part of last season we limped to the title though still by a margin because the start of the season we were awesome. Hopefully this will be the reverse this year, but unless something radical changes, I can't see it.

You guys are mad - Cuadrado/Salah - you buy these wingers for big money after no doubt spending millions scouting them then never play them then sell for peanuts - whats it all about ?

Will Pedroget in your team? if so who for?

I think T(u)HO wants the monopoly on midfielders and wingers.
