Time to start being ultra boring and grind out some results
Pedro has been the only player giving 110%
I think pogba a is a non starter even on a free, his wages would throw the whole structure out the window
We need to win every cup compation now to keep the big man happy so off to place my bets

In case you all forgot what I said.....
Seeing Falcao in the CS was like watching a rerun of Torres I'm afraid. No pace, no sharpness, nothing sticks, can't beat a man.....
We're doomed I tell ya doomed...I told ya ... we're doomed....We're still doomed.... doomed I tell ya...

Not a single win in pre season is not good - whats wrong chaps? I know its only pre season but that is not the norm for you guys is it?
Still playing like the back of last season...no flair, no pace, no striker. Seeing Falcao in the CS was like watching a rerun of Torres I'm afraid. No pace, no sharpness, nothing sticks, can't beat a man.....

Very disappointing display yesterday. Hard to know where to begin. Fabregas looks knackered before he starts. Still good from dead balls, but easily beaten otherwise. Costa just appears to be looking for a fight with everyone. Matic has turned into a maniac with virtually every challenge he makes resulting in a foul. All the opposition teams seem to have mastered how to close Hazard down. Pedro nothing special, but easily the hardest worker, flying up and down the pitch. Ivanavich didn't seem to know what to do and every time Palace brought the ball down the wing to him (and it was was a lot of times) he just puts his arms behind his back and retreats until the winger moves round him.
The number of times yesterday we got the ball in or around the Palace area and just passed it about until we lost it was very frustrating. I'm not an advocate of wild shots for the hell of it but it was hard to see what end product we were looking for.
I'll confess I'd not heard of Kenedy before he came on yesterday, but he was a breath of fresh air when he did. Very promising so he'll probably be shipped out on loan next week. Was sat with my kids in the family stand so our ears are still ringing from the noise the Palace fans were making. We must have out-numbered them 10 to 1, but they easily had us beat for volume.

Eh, the Champions Hangover is as easy to predict as rain at a BBQ. A defense of older, grizzled veterans who gave it their all this season look past it this season. That's ok. We have options - Rahman is incoming, Kennedy did OK, Zouma is good and Azpi would probably jump at the chance to switch wings.
We are going to need to rebuild a little bit - the lack of energy we had at the end of last season looks to have been permanent not a blip. Only City look to have raced out of the gate this year, and they might still stumble later in the year - remember how the chase developed last season.
Disappointing but not a crisis, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the new Chelsea team emerges from the old.

Interesting. Given how nearly the whole back line are in poor form, maybe it'll give them a kick up the arse. More worrying is defensive midfield options since Fabregas doesn't look bothered.

Fab is a professional - I'm sure he's bothered. Think about the number of players that haven't shone in the EPL or for Chelsea but then go abroad and look like world beaters in a different system.
For us, if our defence has the midfield looking over their shoulder, and the wingbacks arent getting forwards to provide wide options, the playmakers aren't going to be be doing a whole lot other than knocking it forward to a man-marked Hazard.
When our defence is solid and offers wide attacking threat (like it was last season) the playmakers have many more options. With a bit more solidity at the back, an attack with the variety of Fabregas, Hazard, Pedro, Costa, and Falcao is pretty exciting.

Ok, WTF is going on....
...we now appear to be signing a mid-table Championship centre half who in recent seasons has played for Bracknell, Didcot, Havant, Oxford City, Horsham, Aldershot & Cheltenham.....
...we're doomed....
.....Jose will be gone by Christmas.....
Uniquely, I'm in a position to tell someone else to relax and stop being so negative! Firstly this chap isn't some championship player, he plays for Nantes which is a French PL team. He's some unit apparently and is very tall and physical. The scouts didn't do a bad job of picking Zouma from Lille, so doubt they would have signed somebody useless, but in todays market £2million is a steal. Secondly, things are bad right now, but I don't think they will stay that way. No one else has had a flyer apart from Citeh and they will surely slow down at some point. I doubt they'll sack Jose before the end of the season, firstly, who would they replace him with? Secondly they'e been down that road before.......we now appear to be signing a mid-table Championship centre half who in recent seasons has played for Bracknell, Didcot, Havant, Oxford City, Horsham, Aldershot & Cheltenham.....

Ah ok. Well he's not the only player we've signed, surely if they've signed a squad player that can't be bad? After all John Stones was playing at Barnsley until Everton got him.Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
