Jose must be very happy Brendan got the chop yesterday as there seems to be very little pressure on him from the media. Considering I've heard several calls for both Wenger and Van Gall to be sacked this week that's pretty remarkable. I wonder if Liverpool decided to act quickly before we got a chance to talk to Carlo or Klopp?

I think the fact that it's the international break is more relevant than Chelsea's recent results, but I'm sure it focused the minds of those at FSG. There is a perception that Chelsea's results have left FSG feeling that there is a top four place up for grabs and BR wasn't capitalising on that.

Brenda going at the international break must have been on the cards for a while. The timing is too convenient - a new guy can be in place before the next league match kicks off.

Very much so. Been a few quiet rumours about him going after Everton for at least a week now.

If only there were a dedicated thread on which to discuss such things...

Big game today, anything less than a win will be a disaster. Thankfully Ivanovic is out though, probably walked into a wall after missing the open door.

Loving the team today, Baba and Loftus-Cheek both getting starts, Azpi on his natural side?

Come on Chels, come on Mou, lets do this properly woohoo

Fabulous. Glad to see the cracks have been properly filled and not just papered over. And two stunning, well crafted goals. Nothing to worry about from here on in.

Positives: Costa (we miss him badly), Loftus-Cheek (looking like real potential), Willian.

That's it... rest were dire again.

Azpilicueta and the goalie are doing ok.

Ok, Begovic looked sound. Azpi was best of the rest. In fact even Ramires crept into the OK category on reflection.

Again, countering the stereotype, there should be some positivity. We won for a change. We didn't make any terrible lapses in defence though Baba needs to be careful. Costa scored, William looked on it. Others looked poor but I think confidence is obviously unbelievably low right now. Baby steps. Hopefully confidence will start to pick up.

If only when we had him he didn't expect to walk into the team ahead of Hazard, Oscar etc. Don't think we ever had an issue with his talent - his attitude (like his Belgian teammate Lukaku) stank.
