Sorry, Sye, but I'm not way off. Yes, Jose has won a lot and certainly deserves time to sort it out, which is what the Chelsea fans want. So for those that always say they are just glory hunters etc have been shown up to be wrong here. The reason they didn't like Benitez was because of comments he made about the club, they were behind Di Matteo etc etc.
My reply was more in relation to your comment'' but there aren't many others fans that would be so united in keeping their manager at the helm after the start to they've made this season.''

Doesn't mean that they are right though. He's clearly doing a dreadful job, given the players and resources at the club. A mess very much of his own making. I expect that the only reason he is still in charge is because Roman hasn't been able to secure a suitable replacement.m3sye said:

I'm constantly surprised at how much flack Wenger gets. He's done a superb job given the resources and Arsenal consistently punch above their weight in the Prem. I think when Wenger is replaced they'll quickly see the grass isn't always greener and will be longing for him back.
As for Mourinho, I really hope Jose turns it around. I think there needs to be an example where a club really goes through the mire but comes out strong at the other end without taking the easy route of sacking the manager. I think/hope once one club demonstrates that it can be done, maybe fans won't be quite so fickle and clubs won't be quite so quick to fire.
I'd also hope that if Klopp was to go through a rough patch with Liverpool, that we'd recognise he is a top manager and would stand by him also. Unfortunately for Rodgers he didn't have a glowing CV to fall back on when times were tough and there was a contingent of fans that wanted him gone the minute he walked through the door.

Again, I genuinely don't think there are many fans that would stand by their manager. My point was more that Chelsea fans have stood up for Jose, in spite of the fact most people have them pegged as glory hunters. I don't think I'm articulating my point very well as I'm typing this on the sly in a very boring meeting.
I get what you are saying. Their loyalty to Jose contradicts their label as glory-hunters. You'd expect glory-hunters to be calling for the manager's head as soon as they lose a home game.Alternatively, they've all be seduced by the cult of Jose and it's a group delusion - they SHOULD be calling for his head.

You only have to look at Man Utd fans on Moyles and Van Gaal, Liverpool fans on Rodgers, lots of Arsenal fans on Wenger etc, etc.
I must have been in a coma during the 3 years Rodgers won 3 PL titles for Liverpool! Do you not think Liverpool fans would have been a bit more patient with BR had he won multiple premiership titles and a few cups? (even if he did talk as much ste as Maureen)Adam B said:

The Wenger out fans will get a shock when he goes, no doubt about it.
The problem with BR was he should have gone out with a bang, playing high tempo exciting football. Instead he tried to play safe and boring, and ended up losing the rest of the fans due to crap results and performances.

I'll never understand why BR reverted to the style of football he choose after Suarez left. There is no reason why he couldn't have had the team playing as they are under Klopp now, but he chose not to. Ah well, worked out well for us in the end.jammy_basturd said:

Indeed it did! Klopp is a couple of levels up Going back to Chelsea, I still think Mourinho will end up leaving, mainly due to the doctors debacle, which was poorly handled by all.
