Crazy. Was in Germany to see Leverkusen v Stuttgart in October, that was 0-0 at HT and ended 4-3.

Equaliser was very fortunate, long post the 7 added mins and well offside. Gotta laugh.

I think Ovieado's injury came at just the right time for them. We were on fire but the break in play took the sting out of our play. Sure he was faking it, like Ali's ripped glove against Henry Cooper, but was stretchered off so clearly not.
Just give me a bit more on your analogy between Cassius Clay ( latter day Muslim and draft dodger ) and Oviedo.
Will today also live in infamy?
The analogy is that I thought he was feigning injury to disrupt the flow of the game as Everton were on the rocks. And it worked. Except he was genuinely injured.

Looked a great game on MOTD, clearly off side but you cannot really blame the lino or the ref, the deftest of headers from Costa that was hard to spot in real time .

The commentator said that it was Fabregas's 1st goal for Chelsea at stamford bridge , is that really true ?

Oh absolutely. He was obviously genuinely hurt. He was stretchered off!

Must have been a fantastic touch seeing as Costa was subbed on 80 mins.

Completely agree about the injuries (Costa too) as we lost all momentum. Shocking defending for the goals as per usual but we kept going and deserved a point. Haven't had a chance to check everything on MOTD yet but I did think Kenedy caught Oviedo at the time.

TBH i didn't even know costa had been subbed .

Just good to see two mid table teams slugging it out blow for blow.

I'm not sure 14th is mid table. Mid table is what we're aiming for!

Managed to get a ticket for MK Dons away. Sure we can get a draw there, bring them back to our place and go out in humiliating fashion in front of our own fans.

I think he fell over Merts outstretched leg for his dive to get him sent off.

Bit of a reckless lunge though

The law is foul or attempting to foul. Even if no contact, ref can give a foul and book or send off culprit. The lunge from Mertesacker and Diego falling trying to jump it is a definite red, as he would have been clean thru.

Disappointed we're only 1 up. Hope missed chances don't end up costing us.

I agree with you there but there was no need for Costa to do four rolls after he was caught. He's not the only culprit, I know, because Oscar and Willian are just as bad if not worse but he didn't have to do it, the decisionw as made.

Someone should tell Souness.

There is not a striker in any league, anywhere, who would not have gone down then.

The decision was right but you really have to despise the imaginary card waving by the other players,

Really bugs me & it's not just the Chelsea that do it.

All in all things are going rather splendidly i feel

You're right of course, but Costa wouldn't have know the decision was made. The theatricals were just to make sure.

Annoys me too and they could stop it immediately if refs had the balls to show those doing it a yellow.

I don't think you need worry, we're spineless and gutless frankly.

Wave imaginary card and get a red card in return.

Problem solved.
