Just got back from the match. Pretty poor performance, especially in the first half. Crowd seemed subdued as well. Didn't really wake up until they scored their goal and were lucky to get a point IMO.

On the positive side, a couple of months ago we wouldn't have got a point. I know we're not there yet, but the sign of champions is getting a result even when you play bad........ could just do with playing well occasionally though rolleyes

Not surprised , it looked really nasty.

Fingers crossed the young man recovers well.

Absolutely.

Trouble with knees is they rarely seem to recover completely. But fingers crossed for him & hopefully being young he will be OK.

Perfectly proving that a bunch of arrogant helmets got the most tactically aware manager in the world, the man who would have brought the ucl back within 1-3 years, the boot.

Shame that he's no good at actually "managing" people though, isn't it? Certainly not as good as Hiddink....

One might like to hope that in return for six figures every week, Costa, fabregas and hazard could have just done what was asked of them, things that all parties realised was well within their capabilities

No? With guardiola busy rebuilding at man city and his experience with and subsequent understanding of the Spanish and Italian clubs?

Wasn't Jose also paid six figures in return for man-managing, motivating and fostering team-spirit with his players? Something that he spectacularly failed to do on every level? A quite astonishing achievement to manage to alienate the players so much, that they would rather lose than play for him? Unprecedented in the modern game. Or does he merely pick the team and the tactics?

True. And it's far too armchair to try and speculate what was going on behind the scenes. But weren't his relationships the first time round lauded for how players would have done anything for him? But I do see your point entirely.
