I think a lot of it comes down to foreign managers and players, they dont get that importance of the cup to the fans.

It's about time we scrapped replays so teams have to go out and win it. Also remove teams that have qualified for Europe from the League Cup
Why should the lesser teams suffer financially because the competition is a chore for the bigger teams.

Some of these smaller teams can exist for years on the money earned from a plum tie,

Why should 80 - 85 teams suffer because the top ten teams don't want to play an extra game ?

The demise of the FA cup seems to have only happened since the Euro competitions changed to a league format rather than knock out & that's where i think the problem lies .

Fair play to Chelsea though at least they have played probably their best XI for which they should be applauded.

I think this is being done from next season? Sure I've heard it said somewhere recently that there is a change coming.

Disagree, part of the character of the FA Cup is replays & in the good old days multiple replays.

Well said. They have the squads to cope with the extra games. How many of Citeh's team were making their first-team debut yesterday?

Why do the FA not implement a maximum of say 3 or 4 foreign players for the FA cup
Because it's illegal. The could certainly restrict numbers of non EU players, but you can't discriminate against EU citizens.

Times change. I remember when the home internationals were a major thing. Champions League is where it's at. It's where the tv money is, where the worldwide audience is, where the glamour is. You can't buck the market.

It's never been the same for me since the year Man U decided they didn't want to take part. But for me scrapping replays would lead to more open games, since you couldn't just park the bus and hope for a second leg. Also the semis shouldn't be at Wembley but the nearest large neutral venue

Dissagree about the replays being scrapped. The FA cup has always been the chance for all to have their big day and big money earner with the chance to play one of the big clubs and maybe have the chance to 'earn' that re-play. Having been down this road myself but unfortunately with great anticipation looking for a 'big 'un' in 3rd round draw we drew......... Port Vale rolleyes Do agree about semi's not being at Wembley though, really does knock the shine off getting to Wembley for the Final. Also a real Joke when 2 teams from up north have to play a semi down at London. Fans travelling all the way from Manchester for example for a united v city semi-final.... Barking mad !

Agree 110% about the semi`s not being at Wembley, totally devalues the Wembley experience, it`s a very special place and should be kept for special occasions. What ever was wrong with semi`s at Villa park, Hillsborough etc? There are enough quality grounds that could be utilised.

Yes, very unfair on the City fans having to travel. As for utd , well very few of them live up there anyway.

So if our form under Hiddink was spread across the whole season we'd currently be third. Serious question, but does anyone think we should have given Jose more time? Roman is probably kicking himself that he didn't act sooner

I think Roman should be looking at the players that all of a sudden are not such bad players after all .

Hiddink is a genuinely honourable man & far too nice to manage those turncoat footballers down at SW6.
