There's one but could have been 4 by now. I hope Conte is watching this.

Hang on, he's been gone for months. If this useless bunch of players had any desire or fight they would at least have competed. They didn't. The squad has been inadequate all season and that was down to emenalo.

Sorry lads but it was a bit easy today. I guess it doesn't help when there's nothing to play for (and that's not a dig, just a genuine comment)

Jose's last few months at the club were massively destructive, and all RA was interested in was damage limitation. The squad needs all the dead wood and bad attitudes clearing out and he wasn't about to splash out on replacements in January with a temporary manager in charge.

Is the correct answer.

I genuinely wonder if they don't want any risk of getting the Europa League so they are happy to sit out of the way at 10th.

Much as I dislike Emenalo it can't all be laid at his door, after all we've won just about everything it is possible to win while he's been at the club.

Jose was IMHO the best manager we've ever had but I firmly believe whatever the actual root cause of the problems are that he was responsible. It started before the end of last season and just got steadily worse.

The problem isn't the players as a group per se - they've won trophies before and competed for titles. The same with Emenalo and Jose. The problem is that the squad has gone from a team to just a bunch of disparate players who don't care about playing for each other or for your club.

Things aren't going to turn around until some of the bad attitudes are gone, but hey, you've brought this on yourselves anyway.

We were lucky that Citeh were tired after their mid week CL game.

There is much in this. Currently we don't have a team. There is a lack of leadership on & off the field. Hiddink is just getting them through the end of the season, whilst there are no leaders on the pitch.

Look back a few years. Relatively poor seasons happened but there were always leaders pulling them through. Teams of 5/6 years ago were scary in that respect...Cech, Terry, Ballack, Lampard, Drogba. When Jose left 1st time round that spine on their own, dragged Grunt to 1 penalty of winning the champions league, a League cup final & a running Utd to the final day of the season for the League.

You could argue that most of the "bigger" teams are suffering the same problem this year, United, City, Arsenal have all spent big money on big players but have failed on account of being unable to play together as a team

I think that's correct for City... with their squad they should have romped to the title....
United I just don't think have the quality anymore...
Arsenal well they've been too lightweight for a decade or so.

And the lack of leaders is due to squad acquisition and that is down to emenalo who has an approach to acquisition which appears to be to purchase whoever Utd are scouting rather than identifying what the team needs and what sort of person they're buying.

Where I will criticise Jose is the inability to develop players and look at De Bruyne to see the potential we dump rather than develop.

City's squad has, generally, remained relatively the same for last 4 or so years and in that time we've won the title twice and been runners up twice, so obviously they can play together.
The reason they've not played together this season has a lot to do with long term injuries to the likes of key players like Kompany, Agureo, Nasri and de Bruyne plus several other "lesser" squad members.
Feel free to disagree with me smile

Yes, you are right, City probably would have romped to the title if all their top players had been fi throughoutt, Kompany, Aquero, Nasri, BUT the fact is all teams pick up injuries so that's no excuse.

Leicester will be worthy winners, good luck to them.

Chelsea have a huge rebuilding job on.
