Agreed. Only the rose-tinted brigade would moan about the result in their favour.Costa should have been off
Amat should have been off
Fer could have been off
Fer's goal should not have stood
Courtois lucky to get yellow
Hazard took Barrow out as last man
Ki hauled over in the box
After all that a draw was a fair result!

There's a new directive that goalkeepers don't receive an automatic red for fouling the last man in the box. Makes sense because it was basically a double punishment
The rule is a bit more complex that that.Foul in the box stopping a clear and obvious goal scoring opportunity is a penalty and a yellow card (if it was a genuine attempt to get the ball that failed) or a red card if it was a deliberate foul with no attempt to play the ball (hauling back a player etc).
Foul outside the box stopping a clear and obvious goal scoring opportunity is a free kick and a red card.
Last man hasn't counted for about 5 years. It's just clear and obvious opportunity.
I'll admit Fer's goal should not have been allowed but what do you guys think about Costa's?
On the one hand he clearly kicks Naughton in the head with his follow-through (I recall Cameron Jerome having a similar shot disallowed last season which was not as bad) but on the other you might as well ban overhead-kicks if that is disallowed.
Not disputing the result by the way just re-considering individual moments.

Overhead kicks are like reversing your car. It's legal to do it when safe, but if you hit anything whilst you're doing it, it's automatically your fault. On the one hand he clearly kicks Naughton in the head with his follow-through (I recall Cameron Jerome having a similar shot disallowed last season which was not as bad) but on the other you might as well ban overhead-kicks if that is disallowed.

Kochelny's overhead kick was fine, Costa's probably shouldn't have stood.

Absolutely, we should have been 3 up before anything else happened. We have no one to blame but ourselves for dropping 2 points.TwigtheWonderkid said:

Supposing something hits you? Could point you in the direction of a car thread on here (yes, really) where a guy was convinced due to the fact he was reversing it was automatically his fault. Other posters said he was nuts.Kochelny's overhead kick was fine, Costa's probably shouldn't have stood.

Luiz looks a great buy. 0-2 at home. Should be more. What's happened to the recruitment of players at Chelsea? We needed a quality CB, we bought back a player that was a liability the first time we had him. He's no leader and not a quality defender. I guess Liverpool smashed us at home last year so we're no worse off, but pretty disappointing so far.
Back from the game. Poor display from the team and worse from the manager. Wtf is he thinking? Overrun and outplayed in the first half, we get a goal back against the run of play and you think "here we go, we'll go for it now". But nothing, a half change for Costa but nothing else. I expected we'd have them with their backs to the wall but it was a stroll for them.
5 mins after we score, the manager has to see we're not getting the reaction you need and make some changes. So what does he do, makes a triple sub on 84 mins. Willian, who along with Kante played quite well, was out on his feet 15 mins before then. It's hard enough for a player to make a difference when coming on with 5 to go, it takes that long to get up to the pace of the game. But 3 coming on after 84 mins, rank stupidity.
We lost the game, that happens. But the manner of the defeat and the way the manager dealt with the poor display was unacceptable. I honestly fail to see the logic in his thinking.
Very lucky to get out of that with just 1 goal between the sides.

The overall Chelsea performance wasn't embarrassing, Liverpool played very well on the night and ran the first 30mins, scoring a couple of goals. The defending for he first goal was embarrassing, but JT was sat in the stands, presume it's Cahill who should take on the role.
Poor at this level.
