Great start and good that Costa has scored on debut to get the monkey off his back. Looked in good shape against a team that could be a potential banana skin for others.

Looked sharp tonight when they were actually trying, and I feel like they have overtaken City in terms of having the best individual players. Definitely the team to beat on what we have seen so far.

Great first half. Needed to get a 4th to make it comfortable, at 1-3, they sneak one and the the crowd are going mental and it's all hands to the pump to try and hang on.

Fabregas looked great. I wasn't impressed when we signed him but I may have got that wrong. After all, I am the bloke who said selling Poyet to help fund the signing of Lampard was madness as Frank was completely useless.

I had to run what Carragher said through Google translate, but it looks like he reckons that Fabregas is the signing of the summer.

Second goal by Schurrle was a real beauty, Fabregas is gonna be immense this season, properly glad we signed him. Equally happy that Costa has his first goal.

Reports on the net saying that Torres could be on his way to Roma, as part of a swap deal involving Mattia Destro.

I'd heard Destro was available for £15 million, if we give them £20 million they'll take Torres as well......

Well, it won't be on the telly anyway, as it's a 3 o'clock kick off.

I'd imagine you'll get pretty much the full monty on Sky match choice later in the evening.

If Torres isn't on the bench, I suppose we can read something into that. Fingers crossed.
