Suppose a hotel would be useful for those just travelling in for a game. My pref would still be staying in town though.

Slightly O/T but still Liverpool related

When I went up for the Stag Do we stayed in the Adelphi, that is a special special place, I imagine it was once glorious, but jesus it ain't now

Im in favour of us doing "something" but as yet we dont know what.

Cynical me - they are reducing the size of the seats so they get more (thin people) in (no fat arses so Im oot)

Realistic me - the lovely main stand will bite the dust and get the corp makeover and the tradition of the back rooms may be lost (its lovely behind the stand, its not up to much in the seating area as we know)

Heard a whisper me - they are looking to lower the pitch and get another row of seating in AND develop the main stand

Wouldn't the pitch have to shrink then?

I'd heard that...

Been up twice in the last couple of years or so and stayed in Hope Street Hotel, opposite the Phil Hall. 10/15 min walk from the centre and pretty quiet. Just don't buy brekky there, it costs the earth (nice cafe round the corner instead).

Are they expecting to get all the work done close season?

Or will we spend most of a season without a particular stand?

or without playing any home games? Maybe Tranmere will ground share for a year?

Would two teams in the same division be allowed to share a ground anyway? hehe

Sorry.

Just seen an interview with Patrick Duggan, a local resident, on Sky Sports News. Seems to be unhappy at how the club have offered meagre amounts to householders for their properties and generally has a real downer on the club.

I thought most of the properties up there around the ground were empty anyway. How many people are we talking about that the club want to compulsorily purchase?

4 seasons?

I'm sure Rotherham just knocked an entire stadium up in 2.

17000 at Tranny - not enough, I think I will be done close season with the start home games delayed.

That's what there saying one stand a year with an extra year to relocate the people that will have to be re housed toake the stands bigger, total 5 years until rebuilding complete

That should work out at just one year with significant reduced capacity as the bigger new stands can take the seats from the following year's closed stand. When do we get to see the plans?

I for one am pleased that your club is staying at Anfield. Shirley, there's not a ground in Europe steeped in more footballing history?
