I remember when we played Chelsea in Sami's last season. About 80 mins gone, we were winning and heavily pegged back in our own box. We brought Sami on and time and time again he rose like a salmon to head the ball clear and we won the game. I'm afraid I really can't see Carragher being that kind of player frown
Agreed. Sami was a genius at centre half until the end, often managing to compensate with his anticipation. Carra is a genuine hard working lad who's grafted for everything he's achieved but a different type of centre half.

GJ caught in possession and out of position for the first. Second was an own goal header from a cross. Don't remember specifics of the 3rd.
He was at least partially (and in my eyes more than that) to blame for the 2nd and 3rd goals.

20 goals conceded in 13 games I think. Absolute wk defensive management. BR needs help as he's clearly lacking in his ability there.

It's not like we have the quality upfront to put the ball in the net with the likes of Borini.

It was that special the stadium announcer credited it to Udinese. I doubted my eyes

Not sure if apparent on tv but Coates and Carra payed as virtual full backs as the full backs were so high up the field they had to. Carras too old to do that and BR should realise - he didn't.

My take on the game 1st half we started poorly playing really high up the pitch but they fell into a usual Liverpool pattern after 10 mins and bossed the half, played ok to good but lacked a striker, Jon Jo and joe had great first halves (JA 2 rare poor passes) grew in confidence and I really fancied us with Louis on second half.

However second half BR tore them a new arse and they went back to BRs flawed tactics that were strictly adhered to until the bitter end.

The very least BR could have done is take Carra off but I guess he thought we could out score them - wrong again

I fully blame the manager for tonight's loss he is / was out of his depth.

It's the formation he is playing and the high pitch pressing that doesn't work. GJ isn't always out of position he is in position as per the tactics but isn't Usain Bolt and can't play at both ends of time pitch

I know you spend a lot of money watching your team sir, you have my sympathies when things are not going too good, do you think the job maybe too big for BR or was tonight just a blip, Most liverpool fans i speak to seem confident in BR, i'm not so sure he & his style of football is good enough for a club with the history & size of yours, he does seem to have no plan B imho

Ive been umming and arring over posting this statement for a while because i don't want to sound negative or as if im criticising Brendan because that's the last thing i want to do but here goes.

Is there much difference between performances and results under Brendan than under Kenny? We are still controlling large parts of games and not getting results.

Anyway, im still positive that we will come good, very good under Brendan. The style of football is great to watch and the young lads are starting to come through which is great to see, just need to be a little better defensively which im sure will come.

Sorry don't agree, we conceded 2 to a st Norwich, last season we were better at the back, what's happening now is the sides are wide open, I felt really sorry for Robinson tonight - no win situation (unless we won)

BCM what I / we spend on going means nothing my mate who lives near Heathrow and hardly misses a game is a true supporter far more than I will ever be so £ counts for nothing however tonight was friggin awful

(I may be hyper neg after the tunnel was shut combined with the John Bish concert tipping out meant gridlock coming home but I've made Red Dwarf and I don't mean Joe Allen

I was hoping for a younger starting team, and was right to be dissapointed when they announced the team. Poor defence, poor attack. I actually felt a little sorry for borini. He had hardly any service, and a couple of hoofed efforts to his head which he's never goin to win.

For the Downing tackle, what a joke, And half the kop thought it was Cara who scored the OG.

I think the thing that let us down tonight was BR team selection. I bet we would have won if we had played the same team as Against Young Boys.

Ahhhhhh well.

BR is tactically naive. Dalglish was tactically inept. With one we lose but play some entertaining football ala premier league Blackpool of a few seasons ago. With the other we just lost. At least with BR there's a glimmer of good things in the future. With Dalglish it was all about the past.

That's my opinion tux.

As for tonight. It was the ongoing repeating of the same tactical naivety. BR needs to stop believing his own hype and learn from his ongoing mistakes. Starting to look more and more clueless defensively.

Not the result we wanted but we played a good side and got caught. Good to see Robinson who I thought had a good game.

I'd say so yes. We are passing it around nicely and generally playing better. The young players are being brought in and proved to be good. It's just a matter of time before we start hitting the back of the net regularly.

I'm not a fan of the 433 to be honest, leaves us very light in midfield & the strikers are too far apart to be effective.

We looked good due to the players working hard & making runs against a team that were not pressing the ball. In the second half , Udin pressed hard & rushed us, then we couldn't string 5 passes together. I'm confident BR will see us right, but I think a 3 man midfield leaves us too short in the centre of the pitch & too isolated in the box.

I would like to see us play either a 352 with wingbacks & a holding midfielder, or an attacking 451 with Gerrard/Shelvy just off the shoulder of the striker. We also need to work on getting numbers into the box, we never seem to have a spare body in there.

Boringi looks like the striker version of Downing at the moment, time to bench him & get Morgan a game or two.

5 games at home, 10 goals conceded, 6 scored, 2 points

I expect different tactics on Sunday, at times tonight we were 2-7-1

I know we're optimistic here and we all care but this was st tactics tonight and especially considering the players BR picked he got it wrong.

Adapt or die I think - starting on Sunday

I agree with all of the points being made especially the ones saying there is no plan b and that Rodgers is reluctant to change the way we play when things are not working out.
