Finally, and hopefully, our season starts here. Roll on Tuesday smile
I was wrong, it started last night... thanks to Wilf. Watford fans hate him even more now.

Agreed. I just hope the old boy doesn't get pneumonia after the dousing he got this evening...

Great result.

Fair enough of Puggit to highlight our misfortune, he's Watford after all and they are enjoying a good spell and have suffered massively at Palace's hands a couple of times in recent years.
I know Brighton fans will also be enjoying our current plight, that's what rivalry is all about, isn't it?

But with a bit of luck and a following wind we might just scrape through and survive this season (by taking a few points off both Brighton and Watford during the run-in wink ) and if we can hang on to Roy Hodgson for another season we can hopefully resurrect our rivalries again next season...

Very convincing performance today, only one winner and just a matter of by how many.
Great to have Sakho, Cabaye, Loftus-Cheek all back. Tomkins dominant at the back.
And all the other results have gone our way today. Roll on the rest of the season...

Great first half yesterday. Wilf loves playing Brighton, doesn't he?

I'm beginning to come round to the idea of wanting them to stay up to maintain a proper rivalry. Having been a bit miserable at the prospect of finishing below them, we now have a realistic prospect of the correct order of things being re-established, we've taken four points off them this season, so hopefully six next season, the rivalry is apparently settling down a bit to be more 'sensible' with less silliness and violence, also Glenn Murray still obviously bleeds red and blue after not celebrating his goal and missing two gilt-edged chances (or was it guilt-edged?).

Obviously we need to ensure survival but I'm fairly confident now, so what's not to like?

Having been the butt of jokes and criticism over the years for the poor state of Selhurst Park it's great to see that the club has successfully obtained planning permission for the massive new stand which will transform the stadium. Congratulations to chairman Steve Parish on getting this done, once completed this will be a massive achievement. We just have to retain Premier League status now....

Fulham fan here! You boys do look half decent I have to say. Said to my lad as the teams were announced it's a good team on paper and you did actually look like scoring unlike us! Good noise from the 'travelling' support too. Lot of love for Roy so was hoping your season started after today but think you'll have a strong season.
Cheers 22; respect. I have to say we were under the cosh for the first half and lucky not to concede. You'll play worse than that this season and still win points...

So Roy Hodgson has decided to call it a day.

A remarkable time at Palace and he has gained everybody's total respect in the way he has conducted himself and his achievements at the club have been unmatched in modern times. With very little in the way of cash backing from the owners, Roy has comfortably kept Palace in the Premier League, again. Yes, the style of play has caused many fans severe consternation of late, but overall he's played a blinder.

If he chooses to retire then all Palace fans should wish him all the very best and wave goodbye to him and recognise that we probably won't see his like again.

A true gent and Palace legend.

I can't believe there's been no post on this thread since May, with everything that's happened!

Brighton and Arsenal incredibly fortunate to get a point each off us.

Good to watch this season, but we do need some real points on the board.

I think we might stuff Newcastle on Saturday, especially without Shelvey....

Getting on for six months since anyone commented on here rolleyes

Four points off City and no goals conceded is amazing. FA cup 1/4 final on Sunday.

Shaping up to be a great finale, especially with Brighton now fizzling out. Mind the gap! beer

Viera's doing a great job for Palace and I think you throughly deserve your current league position. The player who impresses me every time I see you play is Conor Gallagher; I think we (Leeds) were close to getting him in the summer but he chose to stay in London and our loss has definitely been your gain. I guess the worry for you is whether he stays - the way he's playing it's not impossible Chelsea might want their player back!
Cheers JNW1, I'm sure Chelsea will want Conor Gallagher back but you never know Palace might just stump up a lot of money for him, but I think it might be his decision ultimately. He's a great player with fantastic stamina and a great tackler and we'll miss him in the semi frown
