Don't get me wrong, I understand that good vocal fans can create a good atmosphere for the players to play in and get inspired. But to diminish Pulis' role in your quite remarkable recovery quite frankly stinks of sour grapes now he's gone.

The good news is I think Malky is a decent manager so hopefully you'll be able to stay up under him.
I'm not 'diminishing' anything from last season but looking at it in reality. The fans and players played a huge part in staying up with the added influence of TP. No single person keeps a club in any division. However, to leave a club 2 days before a season starts is totally unprofessional, no matter who he is excepting personal/family health issues.

The team is mostly the same as last season with a few new additions, the fans are the same and the owners are the same.

Mackay would be very suitable and so hope an announcement over the next few days.

The same fans and players who won 1 game and had about 4pts after 10 games last season? The same ones who were totally rock bottom and looked odds on to go down? And this influence of Pulis - Manager of the Year Tony Pulis, who oversaw a complete turnaround in your fortunes leading you to your 4th highest ever finish showing Europa league qualifying form under his tenure?

Ok. Believe what you want mate.

BTW - I'm no fan of Pulis, Stoke were a bunch of talentless thugs under him. But you cannot dismiss what he achieved last year purely because of the manner of his departure.

His eyebrows have always wound me up, almost as much as his kick-opposing-players-up-in-the-air tactics he employed at Stoke.

The reason Palace stayed up last season wasn't because of Pulis alone, the fans played just as big a part both home and away.
LOL.
As an example, even Mourinho clapped the Palace fans at Stamford Bridge and also at Selhurst Park after Chelsea lost the game. I think I'll take his judgment over yours hehe
My niece has a signed picture from Take That thanking her for her support. They never would have made it without her. rofl

Read my comments, I never dismissed what he achieved last year but it gives him no excuse whatsoever to act like a spoiled kid demanding more ( as in xfer budget) than was agreed at the end of last season. Any professional in any industry does not simply walk out as that act in itself is unprofessional.

You kind of are by saying fans standing in a stadium singing a few songs played as big a part as Pulis did. Or were the fans also at training and chanting tactics?

I said that no one person makes a team successful. The fans played a key part in the success of the team last season. Pulis was paid to do a job and he did it. The fans turned up at every game and did theirs, even the players, TV pundits, commentators highlighted that the fans were exceptional. If you don't think fans make any difference in creating an atmosphere that extracts more from a player then you don't understand anything about the game.

Nobody is denying the fact that fans can help teams on the pitch, I don't know why you keep saying that and posting links.

The bolded part is the problem. Were you playing in an empty stadium for the start of the season?

The fans were doing their job before Pulis turned up, read my comments again - I said that no single person makes success. The fans were doing their job but the manager wasn't (Holloway). Pulis came along and did his part but without the fans he would not have succeeded.

I'm posting links in order to back up my statements as facts.

It's a shame your fans couldn't get the goals you needed today.

They certainly helped get the first one.

What's wrong, wasn't the huge defeat you expected? hehe
