As for calling the linesman a cheat, I regret that and withdraw it.

Do you actually believe what you wrote? This thread has some spectacularly deluded posters on it, I nearly confused it with the Liverpool thread for a moment.

The assistant referee has seen what he thought was a foul and gave it. Yes, it may not be the correct decision (I've seen it several times in super slo mo from various angles and still can't make my mind up) but what you're saying is that the assistant referee is essentially a cheat. The ref will only ever overrule another official if he has a definitive angle on a decision, which he clearly didn't in this case. There was contact as well, so it's tough st I'm afraid.
You can't make your mind up and you've seen it multiple times in slo mo? And the linesman gave it, with one view. And he's supposed to be certain. But he gave it in the last two seconds of added time. Tough st? You bet.
He made what he presumed to be the correct decision, I assume he did this because he saw contact and then the striker falling over. It was a contentious decision, so I looked at it a few times and I personally can't decide if it was a pen or not. I don't think the assistant referee thought "I really hope this winds up a bunch of Palace fans"

Fact is that the ref consults the (cheating b4stard) linesman,
Really. A cheat? He's been taking backhanders has he? Evidence.

fking whinging Palace cry babies. A decision went against you. Deal with it.
You're obviously not a fan if you dont get upset when things go against you. But whatever, I don't care what you think.
No, I'm a Chelsea fan. We were 1-0 up on Saturday when we were denied a blatant penalty. Went on to draw 1-1.

Yes, angry at the time, but that's football. I go to football to feel emotion. Joy, disappointment, anger, and gratitude when a dodgy decision goes our way.

I'm over it now. I was about 5 mins after the final whistle. Because I'm not 6 years old.

I defy any fan not to feel pissed off when a dubious penalty is given against them in the last TWO SECONDS of added time.

As for being deluded or having a sense of entitlement, I'm not and i have none whatsoever. We nearly went out of business in 2010, so most of the time I'm just loving being in the prem. But that doesn't make injustice or bad luck any easier to take, and our bad run this year is really hurting. But hey, you all go ahead and take the piss, i really dont give a flying fk what chelsea west hammers or gooners think.
I didn't take the piss, never said you were deluded - I asked a genuine question. You've got a real attitude problem, it's meant to be a game and generally the football sections of P'Heads are where supporters exchange a bit of banter and ask serious questions about clubs other than their own- if you want an argument get along to General Gassing. I don't have a view on whether or not it was a penalty but agree it did look soft. That said the fact that it was in the 94th min is irrelevant. That's what I was asking. I'll not trouble you again. wavey

Indeed not. That was just a very funny side effect of his decision.

I was replying to Brabus and twig, who respectively called me deluded and took the p.

I do have an attitude problem when i feel wronged or frustrated, and trust me, being a palace fan at the moment is a challenge. That said, I don't normally have any problem with banter and I've finally got over Sunday and starting to feel a bit sheepish about losing it quite so publicly.

Love PH, love banter, apologies to anybody offended by my ranting, I've been a bit silly. Grown up mode again now.

I'm amused by the CP fans bemoaning the Benteke penalty. Was there contact? Yes. Did he go down? Yes - just like Zaha has many times before. Maybe he'd been watching a montage of Zaha incidents where minimal contact was made and yet he still falls like a sack of spuds?

Not at all, that incident was one of the more certain penalties Zaha has ever won. I'm calling it as it is - Zaha has won many penalties/free kicks for similar amounts of contact. The bloke is a featherweight.

CP fans have less right to complain over Benteke's penalty - or start calling out Zaha too.

Damn it - my money was on Zaha going over for a soft penalty in the last 10. So near, yet so far.

Looks like Bolaise was taking lessons on failing to stay on his feet.

I haven't followed football for years, but given that sod all else was on, I watched the last 15 minutes of this crap.

It is about time that they brought in a rule that despite the verdict of the referee, if a player is viewed in a retrospective study of video to have dived, he is suspended for a significant time. This wker has got his team through to the semis fraudulently without penalty.

No wonder I don't watch football any more.

How ironic

Reading is my home club and supported them always, used to go to Elm Park back in the 3rd division days, and Liverpool was my adopted 1st division side.

While the Benteke one was soft but the was clear contact to the foot, and he made the most of it that one was awful. A light arm on chest not even a shirt grab. And to add insult to injury Reading down to 10.

I won't call the officials names but assume CP fans will condemn the player as much as they did Benteke

Shame as it could have been an entertaining game 11 v 11

Well, even the commentators on the match said it was a definite penalty. The issue was how stupid the Reading player was for grabbing Bolasie in the box as he was running towards the keeper. 'Inexeperienced' was the term they used. Was a totally different scenario to the penalty given in the Liverpool match where there was no contact at all before Benteke decided to dive.
