An encouraging (although ultimately pointless) performance yesterday against one of the top six clubs gives us some basis for optimism. Palace were certainly not humiliated and largely defended quite well.

Far too little creativity or chances up front though.

Jedi's performance was a highlight and the fans were magnificent.
Perfectly summed up. smile Love the 'SAW', 'Let The Games Begin' banner...easily best fans in the premiership. Spurs fans were pathetic.

A fair summing up of the present situation.

Great performance but again another dreadful refereeing error. Ashley Young was 'fouled' outside of the box (and in fact was a dive) and did his 3rd dive of the game after already having a yellow card for the same, earlier in the game. Palace did brilliantly with only 10 men in the 2nd half to only concede one goal from Rooney's free kick. So, 2 goals conceded, one from a penalty whic clearly should never have been given and the other from a set piece and away at last years champions.

Great performence but appalling refereeing and Ashley Cole cheating yet again. When will he be banned and stopped from playing as this has now occurred several times before? Even his manager is fed up with it.

Totally agree with all that.

Why doesn't Moyes actually fine Young rather than just huffing and puffing?
Unless he's done it quietly (good job if he has) then he's just a hypocrite, which he can now have written on his hat alongside the honorary "w 4 n k e r" which he's now entitled to as ManUre.

Roll on Swansea... Let's have no more contentious decisions please.

Just assembled my Dad's birthday present....2 x 100 year old main stand seats (1 x blue, 1 x red). Just mounted them on an MDF base and getting a brass plaque made up. He's going to love them!

Dobbie has come back to Blackpool for his third spell with the club. On loan till the end of December.

Last two times has seen us get to the Play-Off final at Wembley (1 win, 1 lose).

Not a bad player, creative and willing to shoot. He's been unlucky to not make the 25 at Palace, so best of luck to him.

So, is it better to be losing in the premier or winning in the championship?

Yesterday was abject and woeful and we should have lost by more. We will get severe stuffings from most prem teams if we play like that every week. But hopefully we won't play like that every week and there will still be some fun, some upsets and some wins over the next few months. Once again, the fans were magnificent and deserve better.

We all knew this would be painful a lot of the time. However, £120M helps.

A team can't play well during every game. there will always be bad games and that was one of them. The rest of the performances have been very good but without the breaks/luck every team needs during a season. The team still has lots of new players who will need time to gel. That's the price to pay for a relatively large group of signings. We had a terrible start last season and then look what happened. Sure it will be harder this season but it's only just begun.

Press conference called for 5pm today.

SSN reporting both Parish and Holloway will be there - for someone just about to get his marching orders (according to the bookies who have suspended betting on Holloway getting his P45 handed to him), wouldn't that be a little 'odd' ?

Confirmed on Twitter Holloway has gone by mutal consent.

Will be interesting to see who comes in, and whether they can turn it around. Looking at the squad they don't look like they are good enough and are championship at best.
