Rather happy with that result. Lets hope we can secure Amalfitano.

I think his deal came with an option to buy, but I'm not sure whether the price was agreed at the time or whether its gone up in the last 10 days!

Been very impressed with you chaps over the two game we've played against you. Playing good football while being difficult to breakdown.

I think your in for a good season.

Steve Clarke has strengthened the team very well. The addition of Sessegnon, Amalfitano, Anichebe and the inclusion of Berahino have changed us massively from the first couple of games where we struggled to create a shot on goal.

Still not convinced what Anelka offers over Long or Anichebe; maybe he'll find his shooting boots soon. Even without Ben Foster, the core of the team (McAuley/Olsson/Yacob/Mulumbu) is very strong. Seems like the days of the 'old guard' of Dorrans/Brunt/Morrison may be numbered, though of the 3 I'd keep Morrison.

We played well yesterday, and had we taken one of the early second half chances, I think Arsenal would have struggled to recover. Was a very good game to watch.

Agreed - we are playing nice, positive and well organised football.

Yesterday's 96th minute penalty was an absolute disgrace.
I know that these things happen in the game but for fk sake.

Long is a very good centre forward. If it was Rooney with those 2 goals they'd be replayed all season.

What followed wasn't magic. Should have killed them off in the first half. Left o rue the missed chances.

I think the first one was world class in all honesty, its a cliché but if a Messi or Ronaldo had done that it would have been all over the pages...

world class first touch, both feet. goal.

bergkamp-eque - the only ime I've ever agreed with Jamie Carragher

It's a shame because I really like the bloke and when he gets it right, he gets it really right but 7 wins in 2013 is the base line fact.

Thanks for the good times Steve. You'll be missed.

Personally, I'd love to see Di Matteo back.

We'll go down this year. Sacking Steve Clarke is big mistake IMHO.
