But Athletico really should have made something of their chances and wouldn't be in this situation. Unbelievable that the last 5 times they have met Messi has never scored.

Is Tim Dutch? I thought his accent was funny. Youre thinking of Shteeeve Mclaren.

Discounting an old, brightly burning flame, thee are probably 3 or 4 obvious candidates. The interesting one is falling/rising stock. The heir apparent hasn't done as expected.
The other obvious Spaniard is a bit hit & miss in reality.
If your Dutchie is (presumably) youngish, it's a possibility, but with the usual caveats.
However, I know who I'd pick if I were El Presidente.

If they cant overturn the transfer ban then they will be in a bit of trouble next season - their keeper and defence looks pretty weak to me.
They will appeal & get a window to do their business , One things for sure is that when Barca or Madrid come calling, not many can resist.
Collection of 11 individuals rather than a team now, which is somewhat sad, hoping that Messi will pull them out of a hole, isn't a game plan. Team requires a refresh, Xavi, having been one of the greatest players in the world, is past his best and asked to play too much and do to much. The manager is a good manager, whilst Diego Simone is a great one, that's the difference. The decisions made at board room level in recent seasons are now catching up with the Barca team, end of an era. With the correct decisions they can get back.
