I disagree. Real Madrids team dwarfs any prem team IMHO. Not something united have been up againts many times this season certainly. United will need to be on their a-game and have a little luck to get past them. Looking forward to it though.
Not sure that they are head and shoulders above the likes of Man City, Chelsea, and Spurs for attacking threat TBH.

Not saying it will be easy by any means, or that the rest of the Madrid team aren't dangerous, but I think if Ronaldo can be shackled and counter attacks quelled then Man Utd will have the edge.

Bear in mind this Madrid team have only won 9 of 19 away games this season. Different kettle of fish when it's down to the CL knockouts though!

Finely balanced indeed, can't wait biggrin
Hmmmmm Ronaldo, Di Maria, Benzema/Higuain, Ozil not to mention Alonso pulling the strings Vs:

Ba, Hazard, Moses, Mata and Lampard

Bale, Lennon, Defoe, Dembele and Parker

Silva, Milner, Toure, Barry and Aguero

Definitely better than all those

I did say excluding Ronaldo, the rest of the Madrid team are all excellent players, but nothing better than United see at least every couple of weeks.

Bear in mind Madrid's squad for the night is likely to have a few ex-Prems in there: Alonso, Arbeloa, Modric, Essien.

Would you rather face Bale or Di Maria?

Benzema or Suarez?

Ozil or Wilshere?

Miles better than the top Premiership players they are not, "IMHO" smile

While I see the point you are trying to make I don't agree. Alonso is a better version of himself since his Liverpool days and Essien and Modric aren't exactly Real Madrids first choice.

I also think Ozil is a more attacking threat then Wilshere and Di Maria is better then Bale. (Di Maria is one of the most underrated players in the top divisions I think) the one thing Man Utd trumps Real at is RVP. Give him a sniff of a chance and that's all he needs to get a goal. Although the same can be said for Ronaldo. As I say I can't wait for the game, both have a healthy respect for one another and with Fergie at the helm If I was a betting man I'd say United may just edge it. All in all I expect a cracking game.

To give RM max recovery for Man Utd?

Just speculating.

IIRC the teams get the date, then choose when to play.

IIRC Barca kicked off at half 11 at night a few years ago in protest that they had to play 2 games in 3 days or something biggrin

Note: I may have dreamt up the IIRCs....!

hehe I know 10PM kick offs are quite normal. Can't imagine that happening in the Prem!

Barca hasn't been the same team since there manager had to take time off. That said real have been in fine form recently. If they get through united I can't see anyone stopping then in the champions league.

I'd agree but Bayern won't make it to the next stage. Shame really as Bayern v Real would be a match to remember.

It is always a question of circunstances. In any situation or league, they make the difference between success and failure.

Don't think Barcelona will give league title away at this stage.

Looking forward to this game. Barca 2-0 down will come out attacking, they'll need to do something special to get past the Milan defence. Good test to see just how good Barca can play.

Also a good test of Milan's defence smile

I had a dream last night that Messi scored a rapid double in the first half, so have fluttered accordingly.

You heard it here first biggrin
