The offside rule is ridiculously over-complicated - change to last man when ball is kicked regardless of whether they touch the ball after or what fking phase it is. Anyone standing in a offside position is interfering with play IMO

Firstly, football does not have rules, it has laws.
Secondly, there has only ever been one change to offside law since its inception, level used to be off, now it's on.
The interpretation of the law has altered following governing body directives. But what we have now isn't new, it's a return to where we were in the 50s. If being offside is interfering with play as you state, 2 of Mortenson's goals in the 53 cup final were offside, as Matthews who had crossed the ball was in an offside position when Mortenson goes up for the headers.
I don't know what all the fuss is over offside. I think it's pretty good, the way it's interpreted now. Difficult for the assistant ref though, no doubt.

Delay is adopting goal line and other tech to help the ref make the right decision.

How many games have been won by an incorrect or poor decision. Ruins it for me.

Diving (perhaps Tom Daley can be persuaded to play) and descent to the ref.
Who are these players being lowered on to the ref?

Fergie time.... yes it does exist if you don´t support "united" smile (Other clubs are available to substitute for "United")

Fans of "big clubs" complaining whenever a decision goes against them. IT HAPPENS TO ALL OF US!!!

Players getting mullered during the season.... why do you do this? You earn millions, show a little restraint

The focus on the antics and ramblings of Joey Barton. We don´t care!

Offside rule is killing the game for me.

The running gag of the nineties about arsenal defenders with their hands up now applies to every team. Not in the way the defenders behave regarding appealing, but in the way every team plays to the law.

The difference in territorial possession stats tells the story here. We end up with so many games played in the middle third, with both teams squeezing up, that any individual flair is lost, as no midfielder is ever more than three yards from the opposition defenders and his own defenders simultaneously.

Time on the ball is virtually nil, and creativity is suffering for it in my eyes.

This.

In addition to:

1) 'he earned the right to dive (cheat)' statements.
2) Alan Shearers shirts
3) Lawrence's hair
4) this misuse of the word 'done' instead of 'did'
5) joe harts plucked eyebrows
6) The fact that Terrance Venables is not in Wormwood
7) claiming for a corner or goal kick when they know it plainly isn't
8) tattoos
9) Twitter
10) the JT 'ledgend' banner
11) Talk Sport in it's entirity

Diving indeed remains the cancer that is killing the game.

'They does it , so we done it too..'

But the recent changes to the interpretation of the offside law has made it far harder for teams to play the offside trap, not easier. Far more situations that would have been given offside in the 90s are now not given offside.

By the way, the gag was that the Arsenal subbuteo team came with four players with their arms in the air.

Defenders "shielding" the ball while it runs out of play (often miles away from touch) and then being congratulated for it by the commentators. In any other part of the pitch it's obstruction.

Shirt pulling in the box. The commentators and pundits have been telling us for ages that once a referee penalises it properly, it will stop. Koscielny makes a rugby tackle in the box and rightly gets sent off and now they're telling us the referee was too harsh. FFS

Punditry and 'analysis'. There is no need for an hour of speculation before a game, even the world cup final. I'm not that interested in Alan Shearer's striker-centric opinons or the affectedly laid-back defender-centric wannabe comedy stylings of former Liverpool dour Scot Alan Hansen, much as I like the bloke. IIRC, Sky is far worse.

Also, in the same vein, presenters who ask the obvious stupid question which they no will not be answered properly just so they can use the non-answer to fuel more speculation and sensationalism and put managers/players/clubs under more pressure, videlicet the recent question to Benitez about Guardiola's move to Munich.
