Euro 2020 finals in 13 different countries
Discussion
So UEFA have today confirmed that EURO 2020 final tournament will be hosted in 13 different countries. All games in a country will be played at the same venue.
12 countries will host 3 group games + 1 knockout game (round of 16 or quarter final)
1 country will host the 2 semi-finals and final
Each finals group (six groups) will have no more than 2 hosting countries and a hosting country will be guaranteed 2 home games in the group stage. No guaranteed home games at the knockout stage. Groups will still be seeded and a draw to allocate teams.

I can somewhat see the appeal in this thinking it through a bit more.
You can almost certainly guarantee a sell out at every game throughout the tournament, regardless of who is playing.
It will cut down costs for fans. You only have to book a hotel in 1 city, rather than traipse around the country or countries (at least for the group stage).
The main downside is that the host country doesn't benefit from the whole tournament being hosted, however with often the lack of infrastructure in some of the countries (hotels mainly) this might not be the worst thing.
