If Man U bought CR7 back they would be unstoppable next season, now RM look likely to bow out at the Semi finals and JM off to Chelsea i personally think if he re-signed he would distance himself from Messi and become the worlds best player without question...

He isn't good enough to be the worlds best player, doesn't matter where he plays.

His transfer fee would be about the same as he sold for. I think only the Russians, PSG and Man City could bank roll that sort of deal.

If he did go back then yes, unstoppable team. Would be a far better coup than Falcao or Lewandowski. It does seem Fergia wants to invest pretty heavily this summer too...

Ronaldo isn't worthy to tie Messi's laces. If he hasn't managed to get the better of him while playing in the same league what makes you think things will change when he moves confused

How has he not got the better of him?
Messi plays as a centre fwd, Ronaldo plays out wide therefore it is fairly obvious Messi would get more goals.

Ronaldo has proven himself as one of the best in the world at 2 different clubs in 2 different leagues. In my opinion this makes his achievements more impressive than Messi who has only done it at Barca with Xavi and Iniesta behind him. This isn't to say that Messi couldn't be prolific in the EPL, or any other team/league, but he is yet to prove it. That said, Messi has a better goals and assists record in Spain.

Either way, they are both miles ahead of whoever would be number 3!

Who said anything about goals?

Real are set up in a way to make Ronaldo there main attack point, he drifts so much you can't really call him a winger. He's as much as a striker as Messi. Messi's best position is also in the same role where he has freedom to roam, just like Ronaldo.

Ronaldo certainly seems to prefer to attack down the wings and cut inside where as Messi can just run wherever he pleases.

I don't care whether he is world number 1 or 2. I would live him back at Old Trafford and don't think his fee would be any where near what he left us for. His contract is running out and I'm sure the last thing RM want is for him to go on a free!!

I think a deal will be done with Nike/Chevrolet.

No, it's not.

People are also entitled to have an opinion that's different to your own.

Ronaldo and Messi are two geniuses. If either was playing without the other being around then they would be streets ahead as the greatest player. It's great to have both at the same time.

IMO there is nothing between them and both are unplayable at times.

I am biased though and would love Ronnie back at OT. United would be a much stronger team with him but they wouldn't be unstoppable.

I can't see Man U being able to afford the £70odd mil needed to buy him, certainley not without selling the likes of Rooney, Nani, Hernandez or 1 or 2 others.

My very outside bet, is CR7 to follow Mourinho to Chelsea. JM and CR clearly have a decent relationship and JM will probably have a list of players he would want. He tends to have players that follow him from club to club. Chelsea are one of the other clubs that could afford him. Its pretty clear that they are going to need to rebuild, and RA is not afraid to splash the cash.

As for the debate about who's better, I think until Messi tries his luck in a different team, its difficult to say. Personally, I don't think there's too much between them. Both are match winners on their own, both have beaten each other and almost equal amount of times, but you'd have to see Messi is playing in a better team with better players around him. When they both hang up their boots in 10 years time, Messi will have the more trophies, and likely the more records, but for all round game, there really is very little between them IMO.
