Is Rooney nuts, why would he want to leave united on the wages he is on ? No way in a million ways are the goons going to meet his wage packet & rightly so
I hope your right. Arsne has always admired him, no doubt if the oppurtunity presented itself Arsenal would pounce. I can't see it myself. And as for Torres being a good addition!?? Are you insane. (Not you BCM, Alfa and Vetec.)
I don't believe the Rooney story personally...if we're going to pay someone £200k a week I'd rather it was C Fabregas.
There's a part of me that likes to think it's Wenger having a bit of fun causing Man U headaches after RVP and not forgetting some of the other times they have tried to sign Gooners.

He's a good player, do we now write players off because they've had a bad time at one club? If we use your logic we would never have signed Bergkamp or Henry.
I would want him very, very cheap if he was to join us.

I would hope Wenger is focused on preparing for next season and not wasting time trying to cause trouble for Man Utd.Alfahorn said:

I'd rather we signed Andy Carroll than Torres. At least he has a few years left.
Sounds like he's off to Barca anyway!

You really do come up with some bks at times. He's a good player, do we now write players off because they've had a bad time at one club? If we use your logic we would never have signed Bergkamp or Henry.

Instead of coming back with a reasoned argument against my view point the best you can do is take a cheap shot.

By 'cheap' do you mean free and not taking a salary? If so, I agree. He'd look good on the bench behind Higuain and Giroud. I'm not saying he's may first choice player, however I genuinely believe he would fit in at Arsenal.
206 goals in 516 games is a record a lot of strikers in Europe would be very pleased with.

Can we finally stop with all the Rooney talk?
It's a non story, if you read what reliable sources/papers/journalists are saying about this (i.e. not those that just copy and paste articles to fill column inches) there is nothing in it.
We have made an informal enquiry weeks ago, there is no bid, no contact with the player or his agent and no serious interest.
The more players we are linked with, the more sensational stories that appear, the more I think we will actually sign NO ONE!
There is a bit of a sub-plot here. I strongly suspect that Wenger, who at this stage more or less holds the clubs fans in contempt has made a casual and non serious enquiry, then made sure word of it has leaked, just to inject some optimism into the more gullible fans, get them hoping make sure they re-new their season tickets. I think he senses that 9 years of underachievement and relative mediocrity has many fans at breaking point. The most recent Gazidis interview also seemed to be very out of character for him, almost like he wanted to stir up some hysteria around transfers. It's lucky for them that the papers all ran with the Rooney story and before that another ridculous and farcical Fabregas story.
Part of that is down to not much happening at the other big clubs transfer wise. I know City have signed Navas, but other than that there has not been much activity yet.
