You are missing the point or actually more highlighting it, I would have been disappointed to see Campbell get sold to someone let alone Man U, I was appoplectic when RVP was sold to Man U.

If I was a Gooner I really wouldn't be writing him off. As a United fan I have this horrible sinking feeling that with decent service and playing as a proper striker, he might do some awfully good things for you.

So would you swap Falcao, RVP or Ronney for Wellbeck?

When you lot going to admit it WELBECK IS A PANIC BUY.
Of course it is. He wasn't first choice, however it remains that I believe he will be a very good signing for us.

The majority of signings made on the final day or two of a transfer window are panic buys.

Of course he wouldn't, who would?

He has skill and flair, which he shows well against poor oposition. Against good opposition he seems to struggle to make an impact.
Sums up Arsenal quite nicely me thinks.

Of course not but it doesn't stop me having that feeling.

A few years back would you have swapped Torres for Sturridge?

The lad is 23 so he's young. I've only read positive things from journos and pundits about the transfer and I have to agree with them.

his chances were limited at Man Utd and with rooney, RVP etc ahead in the pecking order he would never get the time and support to develop. Although I imagine he'll play support to Giroud when he's back.

it would have been nice to sign someone like Benzema who has scored over 20 a season, but apart from Costa and Suarez no one else was available, and even they werent really available to us.

From Welbeck's point of view the chance of going to another CL club, having free run for four months at the central striking position and the chance to play with the likes of Alexis and Ozil must be pretty fking exciting.

He'll have a dozen games to prove himself at Arsenal and already knows a good number of the players from the England set up. he should gel pretty quickly with The Ox, Wilshere and Walcott.

I'm amazed Man U sold him to us when we refused to sell TV5 to them...especially in our current situation. Chelsea would never have done that and neither would Fergie!

Absolutely, everyone I've heard seems to think this is a fantastic deal for Arsenal. Even Adrian Durham thinks this is a good signing!

The club who have known him for over a decade and didn't need to sell came to the conclusion either Wellbeck or Arsenal pose no threat to them so the transfer could go through.

It's likely they'll be compteting for fourth spot this year so highly doubt Arsenal pose no threat. And the way man utd are at the moment I'd suggest its the other way round..

Think Welbeck will do alright, but still baffled why Wenger never signed Fabregas back.

Having watched the first couple of Chelsea's games this season I think it could possibly be Wengers biggest mistake, ever.

If we didn't have a mob of midfielders, yes.

Possibly Wilshere out on loan, and off load one or two perhaps? Not Wenger's style.

I'd put money on if the tables were turned theyd have bought him back just to spite us. From what I've seen so far I'd go as far as saying Costa and Fabregas will win them the title.

Shouldn't be baffled, it was obviously a choice between Alexis or Cesc. And as good as Cesc is we have a
number of playmakers like him, maybe not at his level (yet) but Alexis is a player we've been missing for some time. Cesc is back to his old self which is tough to swallow but I knew he would as he was always played out of position at Barca.

It's a shame, but that's football. Can't wait to see him score againts us at the Emirates.
