Think Welbeck will do alright, but still baffled why Wenger never signed Fabregas back.
Shouldn't be baffled, it was obviously a choice between Alexis or Cesc. And as good as Cesc is we have a
number of playmakers like him, maybe not at his level (yet) but Alexis is a player we've been missing for some time. Cesc is back to his old self which is tough to swallow but I knew he would as he was always played out of position at Barca.

It's a shame, but that's football. Can't wait to see him score againts us at the Emirates.
Yup. If we'd bought Suarez last summer instead of Ozil I suspect we'd have bought Cesc instead of Alexis. Although clearly Suarez would have left already!

Also we have a certain A Ramsey esq who last year was every inch as good as Cesc was for Arsenal.

Different players, different jobs. A complete error not to re-sign Cesc but I'm resignedly used to them now. 4th place beckons again, Everton giving us a head's start, Salford Occasionals likewise, Spuds - same old.

AOC, Chambers, Gibbs, Walcott, Welbeck and Wilshere are all eligible/realistic selections for the current/future Engerlund squad.

Cesc played much deeper for Arsenal

When Cesc played for Arsenal we played 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 with him part of the midfield.

Typical team back then was

Almunia, Sagna, Gallas, Djourou, Clichy, Denilson, Fabregas, Song , Nasri, Adebayor, Van Persie.

Anyone else find it strange Arsne hasn't said anything about the Welbeck signing yet? Very unlike him.

I wonder if it was his move or Ivan's?

Do you really think Ivan is going to sign a player without the consent or knowledge of Wenger?

Probably not. But every man and his dog knew we needed another striker, and yet we left it until the last hour to sign one. Just find it strange Arsne hasn't said why he'll be a good addition to the team like he always does. I don't believe for a second he was a long term target. I don't buy that he was busy at other events for one second. Doesn't take long to release a statement.

I don't read much into the silence....the bloke does press conferences 40 weeks of the year so he's entitled to a week off when he can.

Personally I think there was probably a bit of Wenger being pushed into it....and if that's the case that's a healthy thing. It's common knowledge that Dein used to cajole Wenger into deals when he was reluctant.

Have to say he's made me sit up today and take notice. Got a feeling he's going to make me eat my words big time.

He's unfulfilled potential. He's got a an awful lot to do, however I was happy with the signing on deadline day and tonight we saw glimpses of what he's capable of. I expect him to be inconsistent and at times infuriating but I believe he's got what it takes to be a very, very Premier League Striker.

As a United fan, I'm pissed off that he's gone. I think he'll do really well at your place, playing in a favoured position. Better scoring ratio for England than the legend Ian Wright. scratchchin

I wish him well, think he'll do really well at his new home. You've bought a cracking player who will flourish this season.
