As a United fan, I'm pissed off that he's gone. I think he'll do really well at your place, playing in a favoured position. Better scoring ratio for England than the legend Ian Wright. scratchchin

I wish him well, think he'll do really well at his new home. You've bought a cracking player who will flourish this season.

It's the double edges sword of the money that has flooded in....everyone wants to see their team win and such is now the pressure to stay in the Champions League that it's going to be increasingly hard for the major clubs to take risks with young players.

Be very interesting to see if Man U go the way of Chelsea and Man City and basically not bring through any youth players or this is a short term fix.

Yes, I've read he's a great prospect...be interesting to see how many games he gets this year. With no Carling Cup and no European competition he'll struggle to get opportunities.

Anyone else find it strange Arsne hasn't said anything about the Welbeck signing yet? Very unlike him.

I wonder if it was his move or Ivan's?
Seem's there might be more to it as you suggested; Arsene quoted as saying if he had been in the country on deadline day, Welbeck wouldn't be with us now.

I haven't heard the actual press conference but surely it's simple really, when you're clearly short in key positions and want full control of who is signed; don't leave the country to referee a charity game.

I'm also a little surprised that he has come out and said this, surely it can't do Welbeck's confidence or respect for Arsene any good and also shows potential rifts in the management of the club.

Agreed, if it is true as reported, that is a really strange thing to say - complain internally, but don't create rifts.

I haven't heard the interview in full. However, I agree if that's what's been said it's fking diabolical!

He apparently wanted the lad on loan with a view to buy. I'm personally pleased the board pushed the deal through forced the senile ol' goat's hand.

Even if all of what he says is true why make it public and dent your own player's confidence.

Seen part of the interview, and it isn't actually clear as he doesn't say why if he stayed home he wouldn't be there, but did mention he got up really early... oh well, odd, but let's hope Danny puts a few away this weekend.

Akpom looks good. Nice to see Diaby play 90 mins too. Bellerin, Crowley, Zelalem and Hayden having strong games too.
