well i wonder what excuses will come out? No Walcott, no Debuchy or Chambers etc etc...can't see that any of those would have affected the outcome, the overall performance was that dismal!

Why doesnt he let Ox start a game on the opposing flank to Alexis and let Ozil play in the middle?

still we knew come the start of the season that we were a couple of players short - DM, world class striker etc...so shouldn't be a surprise really.

The game was crying out for a midfielder in our team, wondering why the hell Rosicky wasnt used, or hasnt even got on the field so far...

Is Weger still trying to play Ozil as a left winger?
yes wenger is worth every penny of his £7mln pa contract since we won the highly prized Community Shield. hes a genius, do not question his methods as to why we have 10 x of the same type of player. klopp just got lucky playing 4-4-2 and his team that has a total value of less than 20% of ours ....

on a serious note, if this continues sanchez head will drop just as ozils has and arshavins did and koscielny will be off to madrid next season. fun, fun, fun....

in wenger we trust!

Awful performance last night....not like we haven't played them before and didn't know what to expect.

I honestly cannot for the life of me understand how both our fullbacks get caught up the pitch so fking often....Kozzer's quick but Arteta and BFG aren't so we get massively exposed. The second goal we conceeded last night was an absolute fking shocker.

Cazorla, The Ox and Rosicky need to be drafted in to the side....if that means Ozil and Ramsey warm the bench so be it.

I bought a sodding expensive ticket for the Spuds game on the Ticket Exchange yesterday....having seen that performance I am beginning to wish I hadn't!

The apologists told us we had to judge Wenger after the transfer window. Well, the window is now shut, we are 2 defenders short and still don't have a defensive midfielder.

The team is set up the same way irrespective of the opposition, there is a lack of temp in our pay, I haven't got a fking clue what the formation is but it certainly doesn't suit the players we're selecting. Last night we got completely overrun and he did little to try and change it.

We should be playing 4 1 2 1 2 with the players that we have. Arteta or Flamini in front of the back four, Wilshire or Cazorla and Ramsey in Midfield and Ozil behind Welbeck & Alexis.

Under Wenger we will continue to do OK in the league (finishing between 3rd and 5th) win the odd FA Cup or League Cup maybe, continue to struggle against the top sides and I expect we'll get a couple of hidings again this season. Wenger is no longer the man who will enable us to compete with the very best. The man who should take over was in the other dug out last night, I've been saying that for 2 years!

We are slowly killing Ozils career. If I was him I'd jump ship before it's too late. Spend over 40 million on one of the very best players in the world and play him where he's least effective. Absolute madness. In fact I'd go on strike until I get played in the no.10 position. He must be fuming.

This is what pisses me off about football in general. And I don't understand how so many highly paid and supposedly highly knowledgable people fk it up.

Square pegs in round holes seems to happen everywhere. I've said it over and over again on the England thread.

There is a reason why these players were the best in the world when they were bought...because they were playing in a certain position!

I'm sure you could stick Messi at right back and he'd do a job...but it's a waste of his talent and there are probably many better players in the squad to play there.

Wilshere playing DM for England...waste of time.

Ozil and Mata playing left wing...waste of time.

I'm sure everyone gets the gist of my rant.

We seem to be playing worse than last season. Just look out of ideas on how to move the ball forward.

The thing that confuses me about Ozil is the amount you spent. You don't spend 42m and then not make that person an integral part of the team or indeed build a team around them.

It's also not going to get the best out of DW, he has a woeful first touch and as such isn't great with his back to goal or holding up the ball, give him a nice ball to run on to though and he will really work out for you

Now who could play the kind of ball that Danny would love, the sort of ball that splits the defence and gives him space to run into scratchchin

Maybe winning the FA cup was the worst thing that could happen for you chaps?

I've said for the last 5 years that Wenger was past his SBD - regulars here know my views so I won't repeat them.
However the newest failing is the negligent manner he has allowed the squad to have so little depth in defence. It's not like the Gibbs injury was so last minute he couldn't respond. To allow Vermaelen to go without an experienced and pacey replacement was completely brains out. There were any number of adequate replacements who, while they wouldn't have passed the AW test of having the quality of the first choices, would have been better defenders than Monreal, Flamini, and at this stage of their careers; Bellerin and Chambers. Has the obstinate Alsatian never heard of the term 'stop-gap'
Why he encourages 'pushing on' full back tactics is beyond me when we have one of the slowest CBs around in BFG. Covering for FB s out of position is not his strength, especially when the DMF cover goes AWOL.
Elsewhere I endorse Alfahorn's comments entirely. Wenger is now showing a reverse Midas touch turning gold to crap. Either Ozil should be running the show in his favoured pos or we should have bought Cesc back (nothing will ever convince me that that is anything less than a total eff-up)

This. I would even rather see him play the Arteta role as I don't really see what advantages Arteta has over him - his work rate and urgency alone would get him in my team ahead of Arteta.

amazes me that after being played off the pitch for 30 mins and i mean total domination, wenger didn't bulk up the MF or change the system.

the players are not giving 110pc for wenger. klopp gets that from his players. our team is as fit as theirs if not fitter. we have the better facilities.

wenger wont say to anyone in that team 'do that again and you are going on loan to a ligue 2 club at the next window' and its why i have had to endure the average giroud for so long and ramsey looking great against inferior opposition but non existent (proviso being his facial hair that he seems to care more about than anything else) against a pro team, thanks god for wellbeck at least the f**ker tried without dropping his head even being completely isolated in wengers incompetent system.

you know those hidings we got last season ? they are coming this season too...

nothing fundamentally wrong with the team (yes its unbalanced) but that doesn't mean you lose ... a decent manager would have closed out the game 0 - 0 with those very players.
