They're not laughing at us now are they. biggrin
Plenty of ManU fans didn't laugh when you got him.
I posted that I wouldn't be surprised if Arsen doesn't turn him into another Henry frown
Poor opo or not it will be great for his confidence.
Glad for Danny.
You chaps are starting to realise his potential.

One good game. Let's not go too mental. Maybe it's the thing he needed to boost his confidence and help him along the way, but it would be foolish to think he's changed overnight after a game.

I was speaking as a ManU fan smile
I'm sure you are already enjoying the way he runs people down and blocks the ball before they can get rid if it.

It isn't one good game though is it.

He was the star man for England in Switzerland, he played well against Man City and almost scored (he hit the post), he was played well at Aston Villa and scored, he played well against Spurs particularly in the first half and Wednesday night speaks for itself.

He hasn't changed overnight, he's exactly the same player as the one who played for United. The difference is he's getting a consistent run at centre forward instead of being shunted out wide or dropped altogether.

This is the key...he's come to Arsenal and pretty much has a free run at that starting spot until Christmas. I bet he almost can't believe his luck going to a Top 4 club, Champions League football and a guaranteed starting spot...after never have a consistant run in his favoured position. I think he's showing he's the player that a lot of Man U fans always thought he was. I'd be gutted if I was them in the same way as Arsenal fans have been on too many occasions over the last ten years.

Ironically one of the reasons he hasn't had a chance for Man u is because they bought RVP. One thing I do know is that Welbeck looks a better player than RVP did at 23 (when he wasn't injured)

Falcao is s friggin brilliant footballer but you cannot help think they could have spent that money much better elsewhere in the team and one of their favourite sons would still be there. Dwight Yorke is not the most insightful pundit in the world but as he pointed out..Shaw for £27mil, Lallana for £25mil and Welbeck for £16mil....one of them is totally the wrong price....in fact they all probably are but only one of them was cheap.

It's quite an extraordinary piece of business by Arsenal. It was essentially a last ditched effort to bring in a striker. When analysed it seems it could turn out to be one of the most astute signings in the EPL in the few years.

What struck me is how so many people in the game were almost unanimous in their praise of the player and the decision by us to sign him. In just a few games we've been given great encouragement by his displays and the quality of the finishes on Wednesday were really top notch.

With Chelsea Arsenal this weekend, a head to head comparison, and the chance for both sides to laugh at Spurs.

After the events of this morning in F1, a double puncture on the bike, what could possibly go wrong in this match...

Ox for Ozil at half time for me. Mainly we've done OK, but only OK. The incident leading to the penalty highlights again the glaring weakness in front of that back four.

Best thing about the first half; the Chelsea physio is fit as fk!

No one is surprised by the result. It doesn't matter who Chelsea select, when the match is played,it's a given that we're not going to be good enough whilst Wenger is still Manager.

We're a much better side but we need a physical presence in defence and midfield, once again we didn't fully strengthen where we needed to this summer and that's the story of every transfer window under Wenger.

Wenger will get some good results and we'll play some lovely football but when it really counts we will not be good enough. This is why for a club the size of Arsenal we need a man able to take us forward and that man certainly isn't Wenger. He was the right man in 1996, however now he is a dinosaur. Once an innovator and now left behind by the advances in the game made by more modern coaches like Mourinho.

He doesn't seem interested when the oppo's are half decent, looks a complete waste of £43m tbh

Or more to the point, only has had to be 'up' for it twice a season in the past few years and 6 games in international tournaments - appears that 'they don't like it up'em Mr Mainwairing.
Oh and we'll played Cesc - always a cert he'd supply a killer pass. For letting this happen alone Wenger shoud go!

Ozil doesnt appear interested in any game where he has to put a shift in, i think every time he had the ball in the first half he either gave it away, fell over or just got out played by whoever tackled him. Probably 3 of our players had a half decent game, Chambers, Wilshere, & Alexis, the rest just werent trying hard enough, i mean fk me, not 1 single shot on target, the play was pedestrian at best and Chelsea just sat there and soaked it up.

I've bemoaned the lack of tempo a lot of late. In the Chelsea thread they're crowing on about us being upset they got Fabregas. I'm envious they've got Matic, he's a superb player and improve us and I believe make us genuine contenders.

With regards Ozil. I think a lot of the issues are down mismanagement by Wenger.

They're not "crowing" about anything...I made the comment and I'm not a chelsea fan...hth.

And the fact you even mention it here as well as there suggests it might bother you more than you suggest.
