Why the anger? This is a thread for Arsenal debate, it's not exclusively for "Wenger out brigade". I'm a life long gooner, and spend about over a grand a year going to see them, so I want to see them performing well and i've been there to see these poor performances in person. But I still think Wenger can do the job.

You say that you'd be out of a job if you don't perform, but what you're not realising is that Wenger is performing in his job, for his employers. He has kept the club in a strong financial position, getting CL football every year despite very little net spend on players. Like I said the club is run as a business, not as a billionaires plaything. Wenger would not have lasted long under RA at Chelsea, or under the City owners, as their managers are measured purely on results on the pitch. But Wenger is not measured that way.

The 2-3 seasons comment, for me those seasons started last year once he had money to spend on Ozil, so we are now part way through the second season. I expect him to buy well in Jan or more likely the summer, to get the team in a much stronger position next season, with adequate back up in positions to cover injuries.
On what basis do you believe he can still do the job when we've been showing the same weaknesses and making the same mistakes for 5 to 6 years or more under his management?

Just watched the low lights on MOTD and fk me, wtf were our defence doing, all 3 goals Mertesacker was dreaming, Gibbs way out of position, no one watching opposition runs, pathetic. No wonder Bould looked like he was going to blow a fuse sat on the side lines.

That's a bit harsh as Stoke play better football these days but I take is point, it really shouldn't be happening.

Conversely he could be pointing out the problem lies with the coaching of these skilled individuals into a team.....

In nearly 50 years of following Arsenal, I've never seen the club so divided, very sad to see.

Wenger giving his usual c*ckspeak about team spirit again after the match. We've won once out of 8 visits to the Rock Apes (I hear they were still booing Ramsey each time he got the ball),so do you think Wenger will ever work out a gameplan on how to beat this lot ?
And that is where the problem is IMO,he has been tactically inept for way too many years now. Every team know how to beat us,Mark Hughes probably remembers playing against Wenger and he was still using the same tactics back then ....
The AFC cashcow needs to be brought down ... Usmanov ? <Help>

I'm used to Arsenal being associated with failure. Even the years of hoping that after putting up with a transitional period would all be worth it have all seemed to be in vain; I'm quite numbed by it all, and so too are a lot of my Gooner mates. One of them commented, "Finding it slightly amusing that some people are still actually letting Arsenal results get to them,WAKE UP!!! Do you think the players and the club these days actually give a flying fk about you? Let it go people it's easier, trust me."

That YT video of the walking Arsenal shop is quite indicative of how the fans are split.

Why is that sad? They way the clown manages the club should finally inspire a bit of debate !

Not just the usual gooner accept and follow approach.

So a divided fan base is healthy for the club? If you've been to the Emirates lately you can see first hand how tense the atmosphere is there now. Not a nice place to be, and there's no doubt in my mind that the players will be affected by it.

I think the fans who still support Wenger look at what he acheived between 1996-2006 and somehow believe he is going to be able to recapture that. It's totally delusional, the only manager who has ever been able to reinvent his team and to a certain extent himself was Fergie.

Wenger doesn't know any other way. He's been found out and doesn't know how to respond, to reinvent himself let alone the team.

He's gotten stuck. He's digging himself in deeper and deeper. He should have called it a day a number of seasons ago really, however in May he had the chance to sign off in a bit of style, he should have walked off in to the sunset with his cup winners medal and said thanks very much I'm out of here. Instead within months even some of the most staunch supporters of Wenger are turning on him, even people like Ian Wright he was always pro-Wenger has suggested its time to change.

He won't ever turn t around because he refuses to accept his methods no longer work. The fact that he thinks we'll win the title within years is looking laughable.
