This weapons grade tool's performance was after the ECL game against Dortmund.

His international caps do have a relevance. You don't play 100 times for Germany if you are st. Other nations maybe, not Germany.
But, BFG is one part of a well drilled defensive setup when playing for Germany.....

Whereas he is one part of a piss poor & caotic defensive setup at Arsenal..... so big difference IMHO.

I also don't believe Bould is being allowed by AW to influence/coach the defence as he would like to.....IMHO.

So, Podolski has travelled to Italy for talks with Inter before the fking transfer window has even opened. This despite Wenger saying he expected him to be here at the end of the month and dismissing the rumours of a move to inter.

Wenger is a liar and a considerable danger to our club. I have no faith or trust in him at any level. This club will continue to spiral downwards with him there.

I fully expect some of our star players to submit transfer requests. If not this month then certainly in the Summer. The board must grow some balls and sack him, they must sack him for the good of the future of this club.

I've never hated anyone in football as much as I hate Wenger, yes I hate him. Strong language I know. I would go so far as to say I like Spurs more than Wenger.

I still can't fathom why Podolski is not considered a good player to keep at Arsenal.

When you consider that Welbeck isn't exactly ripping up trees (and is currently in and out of the treatment room) and no sooner is Giroud back from injury, he's now sitting out a suspension; Campbell and Sonogo are being pushed out to loan... Walcott isn't match fit (and still fragile)...

We also desperately need defensive backup.

Wenger is shopping for.... midfielders.

We need both as well as a keeper. Szczesny thinks he's better than he is and on this basis is unlikely to improve unless he changes his attitude. He's a good keeper not a great one, if we could get someone like Cech (ambitious I know) it would make a big difference I believe.

You're perfectly entitled to hate Wenger but if the deal wasn't agreed until yesterday (which seems to be the case) he's hardly likely to say he'll be off as soon as the window opens.

No manager ever tells the truth about transfers in public...not in their interest.

Be even better if they sacked themselves at the same time.....

If there is a chance the player won't be at the club then don't comment at all rather than 'mislead' the supporters.

It would appear that Arsenal (Wenger) let Harry Kane go when he was a kid. Surprising.

A lot of well known/decent players were let go by 'the club'

Not really...sounds like he was let go very young. Not like they released him a year or 2 ago.

I don't think you will ever be happy with any manager then....unless you want a Harry Redknapp style commentary every transfer window.

Not commenting on the situation will simply be taken as a "he's off the day the window opens". If you have any open the player will stay then you act as if he'll stay.

No, I expect honesty and if you can't be honest say nothing at all. We shouldn't be letting Podolski go anywhere he should be a part of the team on a more regular basis than he has been frankly.

Wenger's policy has generally been to say nothing....there's a long line of player's we've signed out of the blue and quite a few who have left with no warning too. If ever there is a club/manager that didn't participate in the media frenzy it's Arsenal under Wenger.

Last couple of year Monreal, Chambers and Welbeck were signed with no speculation prior to the day they signed..Song left with no warning too.

With a relatively high profile player like Poldi in a situation like he has been there will always be speculation and with Wenger infront of the media twice a week he's going to get asked questions...a blanket "no comment" will only get interpreted one way.

As I said....more than entitled to criticise Wenger and the club on many fronts but I can't think of a club that indulges less in media gossip than Arsenal.

I was so positive for the season after signing Alexis. Seems like a long time ago.

Podolski has a cracking shot and scored some goals but doesn't contribute enough.

Given that he's banged in 30 odd goals in only 60 odd appearances, very few of which he ever played 90 mins in - I'd say his strike rate is pretty good. I'd like to know what his goal per minutes played is?

Don't blame him for wanting out though, especially with his national team place at stake.

Interesting quotes from his manager at Cologne when he came to Arsenal

http://www.espn.co.uk/espn/sport/story/172576.html

"I am happy that Podolski has left Cologne," Vogts said. "He had too many friends in the city. He got praised as a great runner if he ever got back to defend three times in a game.

"He got an easy ride and he believed his own publicity. But now he has a coach at Arsenal in Arsene Wenger who will make him work hard in training as well as matches.

"If Podolski fails to train properly twice or three times he won't get games. That is the way to develop him into a true professional."

Unbelievable finisher without a doubt.
