As for Akpom he's far too good for the acadamy set up, and looks as if he's a far more talented player them Welbeck, I think he deserves his chance.
Akpom is clearly talented and at 19 could be part of our prime strike force future in 3+years time (Giroud is 28 afterall, so he should be seen as his eventual replacement, not Welbeck's who is only 24!!)Sanogo gets more 1st team run-outs than Akpom, and unless they punt out Sanogo on loan for 18 months to see if he's any good, Akpom isn't going to get much game time to develop. Especially, as Wenger doesn't do proper rest/rotation of squad members other than when he's 'forced' to.
From what I've seen in person at the Emirates Welbeck has a much better football 'brain' than Giroud.

I disagree, Welbeck has been better then i expected and has put in a handful of good performances. But he was bought into the team to score goals. and he's not been hitting the net as consistently as he should for my liking. And If he's not scoring what use is he? I'd back Giroud to score more goals over him everytime.

Thank fk for Alexis, Barca must be pissed, Suarez hasn't exactly showed value for money lately.
So I'm to deduce that Welbeck scoring against West Ham was a coincidence and nothing to do with the fact that he had moved back in to the centre forward position. As for Akpom he's far too good for the acadamy set up, and looks as if he's a far more talented player them Welbeck, I think he deserves his chance.

You're quite extraordinary really. You would rather have a player in the team who has hardly kicked a ball in the first team, hasn't as far as I'm aware done anything when he's been out on loan either. If he's that fecking good, why did he only play a couple of games for Coventry and Brentford?
It's funny how you've written off a player after 5 months who's been playing out of position but you're happy to back a Manager whose performance has been abysmal for 5 years.

Podolski's record for Arsenal is very good. He's an impact player, a modern day Perry if you like. If his left foot is the only thing he's got then it's a bloody good one and I'll take that over a lot of the other duffers.
I'll take Rosicky as an impact player over Poldi. He's hardly had a sniff this season and has come back and shown he really wants it. MrMagoo said:
A few years back I thought we had one of the best young goalkeepers in the world in Schezney, Huge potential. Doesn't seem to be improving off late. I'd give Ospina a run in the side.
And I said a few months ago Szczesny was a liability and I got told I was being harsh.I'll say it again, he's a liability and I'd be looking to bring someone else in this summer. He's not as good as he thinks he is.

Yep. I would agree with this. He just has not had the competition (Ospina being injured and Fabianski departing to pastures new) and has become complacent. It's like he feels the need to come out and be part of the action, whereas in actual fact just staying put and observing what is going on around him is the better bet.I'll say it again, he's a liability and I'd be looking to bring someone else in this summer. I still think Sir Chesney has the ability and time to improve, but it does seem that can only be the case with a more than competent goalie breathing down his neck.
Scezzer definitely has the ability and physical attributes. Whether he's got the head is the big question. One thing that he has done is bounced back from being out of form before. De Gea is the same age and has as we all know really come on this season. Time for Scezzer to grasp his opportunity before it slips away. Martinez looks like a very capable keeper to me and is only a couple of years younger.

Absolutely. I don't doubt for a minute Szczesny has the talent, it's the application that I worry about. De Gea is the same age and has as we all know really come on this season. He won the golden glove last year. He is still only 24. I don't think the make shift defence has helped at all this year.Allyc85 said:
He is bloody frustrating. He will be great for a few weeks then every so often, just as you think he is learning he goes and does something stupid, like being sent off against Anderlecht when winning easily, or his shocker against Southampton.

?
Ultimately, it's the manager.
