You do come out with some belters don't you.

Coquelin was indeed outstanding again yesterday but make everyone else look good. laugh

He's making everyone else look good because he's playing a pivotal role in the team and doing it superbly. Honestly don't think we'd be on this run without him.
It's great to see someone who once showed potential as a yewt finally come through and put a marker down for that DM position. I just hope he keeps up that drive and determination because he's certainly got a bit of bite.

I cam see Flamini leaving in the summer and Arteta has a fight on his hands now he's fit, as does Debuchy. Back to the captain not playing again scenario. Think we need to keep him and Rosicky there as quality backup.

Flamini's contract is up I think as is Arteta's although I think Arteta is due to get a new one. As you say though I can't see Arteta getting a place in the starting XI or indeed Wilshere right now. In fact if you look at the list of outfield players who aren't in the team and fit it's quite eye opening

Scezzer
Debuchy
Gabriel
Chambers
Gibbs
Arteta
Flamini
Wilshere
Rosicky
Walcott
Welbeck

That's a decent XI on it's own.

He's pivotal yes but his form has coincided with that of; Monreal, Cazorla, Ozil & Giroud in my opinion. To suggest he makes others look good is very odd.

We tend to go overboard at Arsenal. Before Christmas apparently the only player we had was Alexis, now it's all about Coquelin. I think Coquelin is great, however as good as he's been this has highlighted what most Arsenal fans have been saying for years. We needed a quality anchorman in midfield, the contribution of Coquelin has highlighted the importance of this role to the team. Because we've lacked in this position for such a long time, as usual some people are going a bit over excited.

I don't expect you to agree because you're one of those caught up in the hysteria.

I think you'll find the one that has got caught up in the hysteria was you and the rest of the "Wenger out" brigade in before Christmas. Neither of us are experts on the game of football but the only pundit/journalist/manager/player that comes close to your opinion is Stewart Robson....maybe you're right but you know I'd rather share the opinions of Henry, Bergkamp, Vieiera, Keown, Dixon, Wright and just about every other person that has been associated with the game in a professional capacity.

Tell you what, as a natural I'd say Arsenal are lucky to still be in this. If the linesman hadn't got the typical "flaggers twitch" then twice Reading would have been clean through. Great game though...

fk me...good game for the neutral!

Reading thoroughly deserve to have taken it this far. Hopefully their massive effort will mean they lose a bit in extra time. If Walcott doesn't get on now he never will. His pace is surely Taylor made for this right now.

Well we were lucky to get away with that in the end. Poor display from too many players, our midfield was terrible all game, good display from Reading, unlucky for their keeper who looked distraught at the end. If we play like that against Chavski next week we'll get well and truly dicked.

Just back from the game and thought exactly the above. I was thinking Reading could be in for a pasting but Arsenal played poorly and Reading where unlucky to lose like they did. Giroud was very good when he came on, Ozil did ok in patches, and Sanchez was good. Most of the others didn't turn up. Welbeck was very very poor.

I think there was more of element of Reading playing really well and not letting us play than us being poor. That said the difference between Giroud and Welbeck was stark....having someone up top the midfield can hit and retain the ball is vital...it provides an out ball for midfield. Both fullbacks were poor....I know Flamini and Coquelin can both play right back but having no right back cover when Debuchy was playing his first game in months was odd. Ramsey looks a better player on the right when there is pace behind him.

Arsenal V Villa final then, can't wait for it! Might have to slow down on the beers though this time, as I may want to be able to remember full time...maybe!

I think it would have suited us better to play Liverpool. Villa play a more direct attacking game, don't get me wrong they play attractive football but Liverpool are the footballing equivalent of the crab!

I think the movement of Villa and the presence of Benteke, it's going to be a tough final.

Its going to be tough whoever we played, but Liverpool, on their day, are a way better side than Villa so I'm happy that they won.

There have been very few occasions when we've been "on our day" this season!

I think Villa will be fired up like you won't believe regardless of what happens in the PL before the Final. Biggest game of most of their teams lives and Sherwood will have them frothy as you like for it!

What I do like is that we won't have to listen to "It's meant to be for Stevie G" for the next 6 weeks.
