What I do like is that we won't have to listen to "It's meant to be for Stevie G" for the next 6 weeks.

I think Villa will be fired up like you won't believe regardless of what happens in the PL before the Final. Biggest game of most of their teams lives and Sherwood will have them frothy as you like for it!.
Exactly my point.

Forget the circus around Stevie G. For Villa this is a fantastic opportunity to put some silverware in the cabinet for the first time in 19/20 years. For the majority of their players they may never get a better chance if at all.

I'm being very cautious about this game. For those naive enough to suggest they are the opponents we want to face in the final, I'm not so sure.

Flashbacks to the 2011 League Cup Final anyone?

That was a farce which Arsenal lost through a ludicrous defensive error. Villa are good enough to beat us fair and square if we're not 100% up for it. In my mind Sherwood will get every last ounce of the Villa side for that game....whether we're up for it....who knows. Because of the way Arsenal play the game I think they're more susceptible to players playing well on the day....Giroud's game for instance is all about his touch. As is Ozil's...if they are having an off day they don't offer much.

If both teams play to their ability Arsenal should win....if both teams played at 90% I reckon Villa win. If that makes sense!

I can't remember Arsenal ever playing to their ability in a semi final/final, we just don't turn up. Sure we've won finals, however normally by the skin of our teeth.

I can, FA Cup Final at the Millenium against Chelsea, 2002 wasnt it? I have a very clear memory of it mainly due to fear of death as I was sat in the middle of the Chelsea fans hehe

My belief remains that Wenger needs to move on. However, this guy is total scum that frankly the footballing world could do without , apart from of course the Chelsea fans who idolise him because frankly they don't know any better,

Wenger I may not be in favour of you but I'd love you to put his nose out of joint in more ways than one on Sunday.

But we probably won't!

Mourinho is a hypocrytical who will do anything to win.....cares not for his or his clubs reputation as long as they win. It appears that Chelsea fans are happy to sell their souls.

Most managers are like that. But not quite as good as it. Most fans want their teams to win. Many fans of other clubs I speak to like Mourinho and would love to have him at their club.

His managerial antics have never sunk to the level of the likes of Pardew and Pearson, but being English, they seem to get a free pass to behave like s.

Mourinho's lies about the Reading medical staff delaying Cech's treatment after his head injury resulted in the (volunteer) medical staff receiving death threats. Chelsea subsequently admitted it was there own doctor who delayed Cech going to hospital. Pardew and Pearson ever sunk that low ? You're kidding yourself.

Or how about this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kre9sQ1J6s8

Ask yourself why when Mourinho prostrated himself at Old Trafford to try and get the Man U job why they didn't want him. Massively successful manager and no interest from the most successful club in the country.

The only club that would take Mourinho when he was ejected from Real was Chelsea and the only manager of CL stature that would go to Chelsea was Mourinho.

Who in their right mind would pay to watch Chelsea every week.
I think they should give back some of the tv money.😊

I don't understand his reaction at the end. We're not a threat to their title challenge irrespective of whether we won that game or not.

Now on to my pet hate of Wenger. Game in, game out against Chelsea we just do exactly the same thing, I'm not going to refer to them as tactics because there aren't any. Our play was brainless frankly, it was like watching a league 1 side desperately trying to stay in the game against more illustrious opponents.

Whilst Wenger continues to fail to formulate a plan to deal with Chelsea, fails to recognise that lumping balls in the box from corners and free kicks is fruitless against the likes of Ivanovic, Cahill & Terrry we will get the same result against Chelsea. We did exactly what Maureen expected, we were predictable and easy to play against in truth.

Wenger is very good to a certain level, however he is totally out of his depth at the very highest level. That's the truth like it or not.

As results go it was alright, it didn't do us any harm in our ambitions for this season. However, if we want to set our stall out and prove we're ready to challenge we need to win these games.

Agreed. Created the best chances, a blatant pen for a clear foul on Oscar by the keeper turned down. Amazed Chelsea never won it.

Well, that's one perspective on the game I guess.

As for the penalty, of course that's down to the obvious agenda that officials have against Chelsea.

I feel for you.

I don't think there's an agenda. But it was just an awful decision from one of our better refs. I can only assume he was following the ball and didn't see Ospina wipe out Oscar. Or don't you think it was a foul?

I'm 50/50 on it. I think both players were entitled to go for the ball. It could easily of been given, however I don't think it was a stone wall penalty.
