I don't think there's an agenda. But it was just an awful decision from one of our better refs. I can only assume he was following the ball and didn't see Ospina wipe out Oscar. Or don't you think it was a foul?
I'm 50/50 on it. I think both players were entitled to go for the ball. It could easily of been given, however I don't think it was a stone wall penalty. Of course they are both entitled to go for the ball. But Oscar got the ball, and Ospina arrived late got the man!

As Alfa said it was a 50/50 ball he was sprinting from goal....what's he expected to do spring skywards like fking Spiderman ? As they often say on TV the players reactions tell you everything. Not a single Chelsea player went up for the Pen.
And quite often players are screaming for a decision when they're clearly in the wrong! That was a penalty, Oscar got to the ball first and then got cleaned out. I hate speaking in clichés, but anywhere else on the pitch and it's a free kick, so why not a penalty? I'm sick of the protection goalkeepers get, it borders on farcical.

Slightly skewered view I know but Oscar did all he could with the ball, what do you want, goalkeepers to do, duck out?

I saw the 50/50 not to give anything as it was high foot from Oscar and a clattering from the goal keeper, Oscar was lucky to not get booked given the benefit of the doubt must always go to the goalkeeper......

Anywhere else on the pitch and the foul would have been given for the high foot I reckon.Slightly skewered view I know but Oscar did all he could with the ball, what do you want, goalkeepers to do, duck out?
It was a foul by the keeper too though, doesn't matter whether he couldn't have done any more.

You reckon wrong. A high foot isn't an offence on its own. Players can kick the crossbar it they want to. It only becomes an offence when it endangers another player. And Oscars foot wasn't high by the time Ospina got to him. It a high foot was an offence per se, then an overheard kick would be illegal.

Well Henry, Carragher and Souness on sky, and Savage and Shearer on MOTD2 all think it was a stonewall penalty.
Arrrrgh!!!!!It was a 'stone cold' penalty (as in certainty). I suspect this has infected the football cliché list as a result of a 'Ronglish' assault on the English language. Think about it - 'Stonewall' penalty makes absolutely no sense, unless you thought it was gay!
