We've got Giroud, Walcott, Welbeck, Alexis and Akpom to play through the middle. I'd be happy to start the season with those players.
I would just love us to go out and get Carvalho to help and push Coquelin. Otherwise I think we've got options right through our squad, we just lack another natural midfield enforcer if we get Coqulin injured.
If Benzema was to come available then I definitely wouldn't say no!
I think there still might be something in Calum Chambers being 'looked at' for Engerlund as a DM. If AW is crafting him into our next utility player, it will like signing a new player. I think a top centre back and defensive midfielder is required to win the league.
Certainly to beat the other top teams in the league.
Current squad will beat the so called lesser teams...
I think we need to try and bed in players already at the club, the likes of Chambers has the ability to play at centre half. I do think we need an extra enforcer in midfield, others I'm happy to start the season as we are. Certainly to beat the other top teams in the league.

Arseblog pointed out the other day that since Scezzer has been at the club he's not had an experienced/senior goalkeeper to learn off.....certainly the noises out of him are he's happy to stay, learn and fight for his place. If you think about it Cech could be at the club until Scezzer is 30 by which time he has the potential to be a hell of a keeper. He certainly has all the attributes....it's "up top" he's lacking.
I agree about Welbeck too...there's potentially an outstanding player in there. We have plenty of options up front.
You think he's going to want to sit on the bench for the next 5 years?I agree about Welbeck too...there's potentially an outstanding player in there. We have plenty of options up front.

A couple of years back I said on here he wasn't good enough and got shouted down. Oh look, I'm right again!

Lets be honest, it's hardly a surprise. We've easily had the best pitch for some time now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33648776
I pressume this is a tacit reference to the rumours of Wenger trying to persuade Benzema to come to us?
Quote from article...
"Money was tight when we moved to the Emirates but it's a lot freer now," said Lord Harris. "We could go into the market and probably buy any player in the world, apart from half a dozen who are unbuyable.
"We get a list of the players that Wenger wants. On the list is a centre forward, but I'm not going to tell you who he is.
"You've got to get the other team to want to sell him, but I think he wants to come. It basically comes down to whether the other team can find a superstar to replace him, because they don't have to sell."

If the likes of Gabriel and chambers can make the grade. It's a long season with cup and CL games, and with injuries you need strength in depth.
This has to be the season to win the title, if Arsenal are not right up there challenging all the way, then it will be because the squad was not strengthend in the right areas in the summer.

Lewandowski?
Yes please!
I think he falls into the "half dozen that are unbuyable" group mentioned in the article Yes please!
No way are BM selling him in the immediate future.
But, yes, he'd be my choice to if we could. We should have made a serious move for him while he was at Dortmund IMHO.
I think it's Benzema....purely because Real didn't win the trophies they are expected to last year so they seem to always want to buy a superstar...which means someone gets ejected a la Ozil. He'd also fit in very nicely knowing Ozil from their days at Real and also the other frenchies in our team. Wouldn't complain if it was Lewandoski though!

Our real need is the same as it has been for 10 years or more. A world class midfield general to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Vieira, Petit, Gilberto, however it would seem Wenger has a totally blindness to this requirement. Fortunately, Coquelin came through last season and was a revelation, my worry is if he gets injured we're stuffed.

If we've going to strengthen up front I want a world class player only. That means the likes of Benzema or Lewandowski for example. We've got quite a variety of players who can play up front and I favour sticking with those unless someone truly exceptional becomes available. From what I saw of Gabriel last season he settled in very well.....didn't look out of his depth at all. When you consider he's a) South American b) came from Spain and c) came in mid-season he did acclaimatised really, really well. As for Chambers he came in last season became a regular starter at CB because of injuries and six weeks into the season people couldn't get enough of how great a prospect/what a great buy he was. It was only when Chambers played a few games at right back that he struggled last season....it's not his best position. Let's also not forget that he was half the price that Chelski are rumoured to be bidding for Stones.....
The three obvious areas of improvement where are genuine top class player would enhance the side to me are striker, defensive midfield and thirdly I would say left back. As good as Gibbs and Monreal are I don't think either truly convince and you could justify an upgrade there more than CB.
