How many Walcott shirts do you think are sold in any year and how much profit do you think that brings into AFC? It's a very small number in comparison to a players contract.
Shirt sales are not a factor. The facts are that 800,000 Arsenal shirts are sold a year. The top names recorded are Wilshere, Ozil and Ramsey. 30% of shirt sales have no name on them and 3% of total sales are Walcott shirts. That equals 24, 000 shirts A YEAR! If Arsenal made £5 a shirt they'd be doing well as most are sold by third part retailers so 24,000 sales at £5 a shirt is less than half a weeks wages for a player like Walcott.
Shirt sales play no part in wage negotiations.

Walcott's always got big contracts....shirt sales and apparently the Asians love him and it's probably par for a homegrwon player of his ilk. I think Ramsey is on similar money now.
It's not Arteta that bothers me....we need someone else if le Coq is injured. I can't see Flamini getting any games and sadly nor Rosicky who also had his contract renewed.

Good to see Arsenal winning; what a terrible sore loser "The Obnoxious One" is...
Mail online:
"Pure soap opera! Jose Mourinho waits at the bottom of the steps to shake hands with every Arsenal player. A classy move? A chance to congratulate Arsene Wenger, who, remember, went straight down the tunnel at the end of the game?
No. Wenger, the last down, walks straight behind his opposite number, who, unperturbed, walks down the tunnel. That is a proper quality snub!"
LOL; and he felt that Arsenal played too defensively. Mourinho that's the same man who even with Real played nothing but defensively.

So, the seasons not even started and we're already without Jack and Welbeck.
I think Wilshere's 'injury' was a knock in training, and for this game wasn't worth risking further injury (my understanding). Welbeck hasn't been available for a few games, and let's look on a brighter note, we haven't exactly missed him much have we? Glassman said:

I like him, I've always liked and think he has a very important part to play in this team.Just loved how fked off TSO looked in the last 20 mins of that game.....not sure a greater has been part of English football in the last 20 years.
Ox took his goal superbly....as we know, fine margins at this level. Shame about Wilshere but then that's what having a squad bulging with talent is for. Le Coq had a good game...just an amazing 12 months he's had.

6 months, however yes he's been a revelation. I'm just worried what will happen if gets injured. Ox took his goal superbly....as we know, fine margins at this level. And yes I worry too. He's one of a kind in our squad....more than any other player.

They were missing Costa, we were missing Sanchez.
Not a bad show against an otherwise full strength Chav team. It's not all doom and gloom, Alfa.
No doom and gloom here. I'm very happy overall. Not a bad show against an otherwise full strength Chav team. It's not all doom and gloom, Alfa.
If quality a quality defensive midfielder becomes available I say we go for that player, otherwise I'm happy to stick with what we have for now
Interesting Telegraph article
It's the last sentence that's the most profound. Exciting times perhaps?

I really don't see Benzima being worth 46 million to us. A good addition, but not 46m.
Wenger was even by his standards was unusually blunt after the game yesterday in saying that he had no idea where the Benzema story had come from. The more these stories circulate in the media the less likely it is to happen with Arsenal...we were hours/days from signing Vidal a month ago.
Another spell on the treatment table for Jack then. I think he's destined not to fully establish himself at Arsenal sadly.

As inevitable as death and taxes, Jack is back in his wheelchair. Never like to see any player hampered by injury, it's a real shame as he could have been a real talent for England as well. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-...

His other problem is with players of the quality of Cazorla & Ramsey and more recently Coquelin in the central areas it becomes even harder for Jack to make the breakthrough when he is finally fit.Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
