Indeed.

If you can't beat Cardiff who can you beat? Even Danny Murphy agrees now. frown

I don't think any team will need 40 points this year. It's too tight. But I can't see the whites getting anywhere near 30 at this point.

Sad to say I agree that a miracle is the only way now. Defensively you need a bit more.

There are still 27 points available , mathematically therefore it's on the cards that FFC wIll remain in the BPL this year , deluded or do I still believe ?

The Great Escape II?
With only 24 points on the board and six games remaining, the situation looks bleak for Fulham. However, the last team to avoid relegation from the same position were the Cottagers themselves in 2007-08.

Under then manager Roy Hodgson, the club won four of their final six games to stay in the Premier League on goal difference.

What's more, their final six fixtures of this season take place on the exact same days as those games six years ago. The dates are aligned…can Fulham pull off another great escape?
It's gotta be fate.....

Norwich's remaining Premier League fixtures after today against Fulham are Liverpool(H) MUFC (A) Chelsea (A) and Arsenal .(H)
Fulham's after today's match against Norwich are, Tottenham(A) Hull (H) Stoke (A) and Cyrstal Palace (H)

There's no disputing Fulham's are less daunting but nevertheless still a big challenge . Also it put a huge premium on today's result at the Cottage , lose and we are 8 points adrift , win and the difference reduces to 2 points with the above four matches to play .

I'll take the plunge and say we will win today gaining the momentum required to achieve the wins needed thereafter.

As a Canary I'll remind you of a previous season when Norwich required just one point to survive, and played away at Craven Cottage. It was an abysmal surrender, and all they deserved because of their attitude.

You're in with a shout for 3 points...we Canaries are used to the Prem/Champ shuttle.

I remember it well, six nil. At the time I was living in Suffolk just twenty miles from Norwich , the pub I used ( The Rumburgh Buck ) sported a fifty / fifty split between Norwich and Ipswich supporters , got a few pints of Adnams finest that night paid for by the tractor boys !
Got a soft spot for the Canaries and Norwich, nice city.

If Diarra can last the distance then we have more than a good chance , sheer class .

Agreed.

Chap on the radio said results had gone our way, but Cardiff (like us) have an 'easier' run-in than some of the others around (above!) us and seeing them get 3 points keeps it close.

Still Believe.

Work on the basis Norwich aren't getting any more points but Cardiff might get 3 or 4 more so I reckon the games against Hull and Palace are must wins. Do that and you're safe.

p.s. Can we swap our Diarra for yours? biggrin

No, our Diarra cannot go north of the river . ( or east ) smile

Holtby, Riether and Diarra are all available against Hull today and in my opinion must be in the starting eleven.
Needless to say folks.....but I'll say it anyway lose today and the games up , even if we win it depends on other results being in our favour .

I have to say that Fulham have been the worst team in the division , Sidwell being top scorer sums up the teams attack and by conceding the most goals of all confirms they have been worst defensively too. Hangeland has been pretty poor unlike in past seasons where he commanded , recently he been a plodder at best .
I still hope we can stay in the EPL but no one can say we truly deserve a place in the top flight by merit .

If we stay up, then it's by merit. The season is 38 games and if the points we need come towards the end against teams with not much to play for, they are as valuable as any other. It's still a big ask. Some of the teams above have tough run-ins which has pulled them towards the relegation fight, but the bottom three have all been picking up points and have games ahead where more points are realistic. A win today and a point shared Cardiff/Sunderland tomorrow about the best we can hope for (I think - looking at the table is painful).

Agree with pretty much everything else you said, Haangeland has looked either passed it or his heart not in it, Holtby (hoping there's a mechanism in place to keep him) is a potential match winner and so pleased Diarra is back for a stint.

A goal against earlier in the campaign meant instant collapse and improvements have probably come too late during a very unstable season.

My lad has gone today and we're doing a family trip vs Palace for the last game - Still Believe!

I can sum up the performence of FFC yesterday by making a comparison of a distant memory from the world of boxing.
I used to go to the fights at The Albert Hall weekly , one evening Alan Minter ( boom boom minter ) fought an opponent whose name escapes me , Harry Gibbs refereed that night and disqualified both fighters for " not fighting " , the bout was recorded as " no contest "
I wish not to tar Stoke with the same brush , I thought they were positive and skillful unlike the abject FFC .
Had Gibbs been the referee at the Britania perhaps he would have disqualified those representing Fulham football club for not trying such was the dross they offered .
In contrast , witness the Sunderland result .

Enough said .

Well personally I want Felix to stay and use the money we get from selling off Mitroglu, Parker, Riise? Bent? To help rebuild a defence. Like to keep the likes of Sidwell, Kasami, Karagounis, Dejagah, Dembele and Woodrow. But admit that may be a bit of an ask. Holtby and Heitinga have been good imo.

I'd also like to see Khan more often and not just leave the big decisions to Mackintosh since he's demo'd this year he can't get enough of the big ones right. £11M for 25mins playing time? Meulensteen?
