FWIW the rumours I had heard were that you offered us Bale for 60m and Hernandez, the idea being you get a striker (a good one at that) and we could pay the 60m in one lump rather than instalments, hence you being willing to accept a cheaper price

We wouldn't sell you Hernandez but offered 60m and Nani.

Well the rumour is (and I do hasten to add this is all conjecture but from a fairly reliable source) that Levy is spitting mad about how Real have acted with the stage being built and the 'accidental' release of the Bale shirts on the website, plus the fact that he will have to wait 4 years for the money as opposed to a lump sum from us means something could happen

For me, I like Bale a lot, is he worth 60m? Its pushing it to be honest, but its more that we have other areas we desperately need to be sorting first

I would find it difficult not to laugh if he went to Man. U. Madrid and their pet newspaper have acted disgracefully these past few weeks.

It would be fun if Levy stuck it to them and sold Bale to United on the last day of the window. So, fking both RM and probably Arsenal too.

It's more than £60 million, because you'd have to front the cost of signing Bale, and then write off whatever is the unamortised amount of the player(s) contracts that you are part ex'ing.........

Obviously time will tell but from what I have seen of Lamela he seems to be a pretty special player.

Oh absolutely and there is a strong sensible school of thought that Levy is using us as a pawn to get Madrid to behave and pay the right amount when he wants it

I know one thing for sure, for everyone apart from maybe you guys, Monday midnight cannot come soon enough!
