No. He's got 3 more seasons (at least) as a DM.

I think he can play at least another season in that role.
I had LFC TV on before and some of the goals he has scored, running with the ball for 30 yards or so. Was unbelievable. Sad in a way but his new position suits him really well. Can change the play of the game in a pass switching it from one side to the other. There is nobody else in the side with the same amount of experience as him neither. I don't think he could just walk away from us when we will be playing the elite teams of the world next season. I know I couldn't.

Norfolk hehe

He's got 3 or 4 years left in this role. The article I linked and the point I was making was not referring to this season. BR has us heading in the right direction, and is absolutely the man to take us forward.

A future manager role? I hope so. He certainly couldn't be a pundit laugh

This is all getting a bit scary. Years of doing well then screwing it up when it matters, winning big games and then screwing it up to minion teams away, always full of promise but never quite delivering consistency and now, now were on the cusp of achieving what every pool fans want since 90. Crapping myself.

I don't think Gerrard will be a manager. When he retires I think he will just walk away from football. In interviews he always talks about the moment he gets out of Melwoods gates/ after a game he goes straight home to his family and doesn't think about football.

Love this feeling of games meaning something at last, too many years of playing for pride now we play to win stuff.
It's a lovely feeling and I'm sure the city seems happier (well the red 60% anyway) .
I don't believe in karma stuff but in the anniversary year we do actually win the league and B Rod is actually an angel desciple of shankly I wouldn't be surprised. In fact I'm off to church now!

This.

Never been in this position in the time I've been old enough to truly understand it. Have no idea how to deal with it! Bloody stressful in some ways.

One game at a time. Can't look beyond Norwich. Four cup finals etc etc.

Come on.

I really don't understand why you guys are getting so stressed about a game against Norwich. Top sh**ing yourselves and enjoy your run in. You're unbeatable.

Did yesterday's Chelsea result not prove that everyone is beatable?

This is either new or long forgotten territory for us LFC fans, so it's a very tense time.

A little under 4 hours to kick off and much less stressed than last week.

However, unless the title is won before the newcastle game, they aren't going to get any less stressful!

One game at a time.

No. I'm expecting Carragher to announce his come back at any moment.

Carragher said in an interview a few months ago that he would not have retired if he knew we would be contenders this season.
wonder if we would have done/better worse if he was still playing

He wouldn't have started. Pretty much it really. It was the right time for him to retire.

Yeah, I doubt he would have got many games, even as a sub.

Still would have been nice for him and the club to have had him in the squad.

Yes. Shame really. But he could have easily done what Toure has and been a part of this. He's deserved it.

But then no one would have predicted we'd be this close.

As a child of the 70's I grew up in an era where Liverpool were the benchmark. I wanted Arsenal to emulate their success, we've also had some very fine moments against Liverpool which still mean so much to this very day. It's a genuine delight to see Liverpool back at the top and I hope you go on to close out the title.

The real big clubs in our league are Liverpool, Manchester United & ourselves. I have no time for these manufactured wannabes Man City & Chelsea and it's always a delight when they get knocked off their plastic perch.

I wasn't implying that Gerrard [i]should[i] retire, but let's be honest, even if we win the league this season, I can't see us winning it again next year. I expect us to be top four again though. So I'm wondering whether Gerrard will want to bow out on a high. I fully agree with those who say he could play on for another 3 years however.

And I think Carragher would have got plenty of games. Last season he got back into the starting XI in the New Year and easily held is own. He's not quick, but his reading of the game and organisation of the defence are bettered by no one. If Terry can still do a job at Chelsea then Carra could certainly do one for us.
