jammy_basturd]I wasn't implying that Gerrard [i]should[i said:
retire, but let's be honest, even if we win the league this season, I can't see us winning it again next year. I expect us to be top four again though. So I'm wondering whether Gerrard will want to bow out on a high. I fully agree with those who say he could play on for another 3 years however.

And I think Carragher would have got plenty of games. Last season he got back into the starting XI in the New Year and easily held is own. He's not quick, but his reading of the game and organisation of the defence are bettered by no one. If Terry can still do a job at Chelsea then Carra could certainly do one for us.
Bow out instead of taking you into a Champions league campaign ( when you actually qualify as champions for a change?) - nt sure what planet you are. Ths morning.

The only way ths would happen is if he suffers a serious injury.

If you do win it and you've got a great chance to do so, the weight OFF the city's shoulders in footballing terms will be immense.

I think neutrals will be very happy for Gerrard as well. A decent WC and a ste Open and Wimbledon for thr Brits and he could be BBC SPotY ... Stranger things have happened!

Three more points today please from this neutral.

There's not a lot between e top three/four nowadays. No on team will dominate like Utd again IMO so you've got to enjoy Utd's demise and Maureen's Meltdown at the time... They may not happen again for a while (we can dream though)

Not a JM or Chelsea fan but credit to them for this:
''Not only did the Black Cats put an almighty dent in the Blues' title charge, but they also inflicted Jose Mourinho's first home Premier League defeat in 78 games as Chelsea manager''

Crikey.

Well I surprised at the lack of predictions in here... You're such a superstitious lot!!!!!!

Well I'm not afraid to call it. In excess of five goals from Liverpool, a real celebration and destruction of one of your favourite teams to go to.

And the bookies will be paying out on Liverpool by Tuesday. They never get it wrong, and your already 1-4 on.
