I would still like to see Enrique stay and play left back, perhaps with Flannigan right back.

Isn't Flannigan left footed ?

He's not good enough for a champions league campaign.

No. He's a right back being played on the left due to injuries.

Besides being overjoyed to be back in the Champions league, I'm also quite worried about the lack of depth we have. To remain competitive next season we will need 2 quality full backs, another world class striker, at least two more quality midfielders, & possibly another centre back. A few injuries & suspensions could see us very short next season, and if it affects our prem form then we could be straight back out of it...

We need to increase the talent in a couple of key areas, but we don't need a massive, massive squad. City have used fewer players than we have this season.

I just think we really lack strength to change a game from the bench, plus look what has happened to Arsenal who have a similar squad size to us. Losing a few key players has really damaged them, as it will us if we don't strengthen IMHO.

I totally agree.

Hoping that Champions League means we can attract players that won't immediately run off to Chelsea/Tottenham/Wherever else once we start negotiating. I think if we can win the league also that should ensure we don't lose any key players.

I think you are absolutely spot on regarding what we need, but I'd like to add in another GK please. Brad Jones isn't suitable backup if Mingolet goes out for months and Reina doesn't end up coming back.

If I could pick the players

GK - I think we want an experienced pair of hands, someone like a Shay Given/Tim Howard/Brad Friedel who has proved their work but in the twilight of their career and don't mind playing now and again with a move into coaching to support younger players. Maybe Sorensen. Someone I've always thought was decent, and has been playing Premier League for years. Probably get him for a couple of Mil

CB - This is where I struggle. I think we need a modern day Jaap Stam, and I don't really know which decent CB's we stand a chance of prising away from their existing clubs.

LB - Luke Shaw. Great future talent.

RB - I like the idea of Micah Richards. Can double up as CB then too

Midfield - Someone quick on the wings (Walcott?) and someone in the Centre of the park (Lallana I think would fit into our play nicely)

Striker - I actually quite fancy Lukaku, but we'll never get him. Not world class, but So'tons Rodreguez could be a good rotation striker who can actually score if we need him to play for a stretch.

Would like to see some signings of proven premier league players. May be more expensive but can play straight away and know the league.
not sure how much we spent last summer but none of the signings have figured hugely (sakho and toure have played a few games) but otherwise its been existing players.
Age should not be a barrier, a couple of free transfers in the mould of Gary Macalister would provide huge experience

You've been exceptionally lucky not to have qualified for Europe this year and go out of the cups early. It's made your season. These players with another twenty games and all the travelling involved would have struggled I think.

With CL qualification now assured and the increased prize money from finishing in the top four, hopefully FSG will loosen the purse strings and back Brendan Rodgers this summer.

Definitely go for two new full backs. I've been hooting on about Luke Shaw for several months now and I'd go for him and submit a cheeky bid for Adam Lallana at the same time. Saints are never going to qualify for CL football so if LFC are sensible and realistic with their bids, no reason why you can't get them.

Most unlikely of my signings would be Seamus Coleman. Not sure how many players have gone directly across Stanley Park without stopping off elsewhere on the way but he offers so much attacking-wise that you'd be devastating going forward. If Kenwright says he has no issues (and EFC aren't in the position to turn down silly money), then go for Barkley too. Will cost you big time but this kid is exceptional.

Cardiff may well be doomed this season but little of that has been down to Steven Caulker. He'd be cheap too and at this vital stage of his career, he won't want to drop into the Championship, that's for sure. Available for circa £10 million and he'd be yours.

Imagine next season....

Mignolet
Coleman Skrtel Caulker Shaw
Gerrard Barkley
Coutinho Suarez Lallana
Sturridge

Probably not everyone in the right positions but that's a good team and six of them are English too.

Last player to make the trip across the park was Abel Xavier. Coleman would be a good signing

If you want to watch so many Everton players every week you could just buy a blue shirt..... wink

Where do the financial fair play rules come in to play there?

Agree, the squad is paper thin, this is not news. I think it will take two or three seasons to create a body of players who can compete on all fronts. Will have to dip in to the reserves and youngsters for lower priority games.

In terms of crossing Stanley Park......Struggling to think....Gary Ablett?

^ That is £110m worth of players.
We need a LB.
Konoplyanka is probably a done deal ~ £15m
I'd love to whack a £20m bid in for Walcott or £30m for Reus.

That is our side now and the subs on the right. I don't think Kolo, Moses or Cissokho will be here next season so haven't put them there. I don't think Aspas will be here next season. Alberto, the jury is still out on him. He is only young.
