The main stand needs to be refurbished anyway, very very tired the further back you go. Adding a extra tier there whilst they're at it is a easy thing to do.
My worry is that adding bits like this will end up with the stadium feeling like it's had a cheap extension and end up looking mismatched.
Be interesting to see what the final plans will look like. As for the extra seats for this time round, it won't even make a dent in the season ticket waiting list.
Didn't they increase the capacity at OT in a similar fashion? My worry is that adding bits like this will end up with the stadium feeling like it's had a cheap extension and end up looking mismatched.

58000 is the main cap after both stands are finished, they can't do much to the Kop but nay tinker with the centenary stand which scares the st out of me.
They have now categorised seating positions in more detail with premium seats between the 18 yard lines basically - I can see a surcharge coming on!

Are you in the Centenary yes? They have now categorised seating positions in more detail with premium seats between the 18 yard lines basically - I can see a surcharge coming on!
I watched the Everton match in the Centenary. Probably the best place i've sat, 4 seats away from Agger if the divide weren't there.
Atmosphere was decent. I question if it would be that way though if it was 0-0 against a Stoke or West Ham. I think i'd prefer being in the upper Kop were everybody is singing and it is bouncing rather than a perfect seating location.
Was sat in the lower Kop once next to two 75 year olds who just muttered all game. Was also told by a girl I know who has a season ticket that a woman a few seats away from her was knitting at the match. Utter bonkers. I think people like that must have a season ticket from 15-20 years ago and it has just became routine for them. Creates no atmosphere. This is in the Kop. Where everybody should be bouncing and making the ground shake!

Not quite the truth - he made some comments on a thread outside the Football Forum which were deemed worthy of a ban by the relevant moderator and out he went.
When's he up for parole Mart?BlackST said:

I've been in the upper kop a few times this season it really is like being at a different game (the part where everyone stands) Was sat in the lower Kop once next to two 75 year olds who just muttered all game. This is in the Kop. Where everybody should be bouncing and making the ground shake!
Wish the whole kop were this active !

My younger brother used to go every away game and quite a few of the away lads sit (stand) in the upper blocks. When we have had tickets for the middle of the Kop or the lower we have always gone up there and stood. As long as the stewards seen that we weren't standing on the stairs they didn't say nothing Wish the whole kop were this active !
Atmosphere is brilliant.
Centenary atmosphere is crap, but it's a different type of fan virtually a family stand. What does my head in is the jabber of Scandinavian in my ear from the row behind as a Scandi travel agent must have those tickets for tourists. It's often compensate by being eye to muff with a hotty at half time
