injuries happen but there does seem to be amore in training than ever, perhaps it s the boots or the training methods or over commitment which is a positive out of a negative...

I've not questioned united's backroom staff certainly newcastles as they have had years upon years of injury problems to an outsider looking in.

as for Moyes, well I don't buy all this must sack Moyes stuff - the likelihood of progression in the champions league was low anyway, not impossible but low and when the inevitable happened it seems to have created a sack frenzy all anew....

I'm willing to give him this and another season. champs league football is a must next season even if it turns out to be trophy free.

beyond that, who knows...

It was never a goer IMO even though I hoped it'd happen. Bayern would be mad to let him go.

I agree that the likelihood of progression was limited, I do feel however that the games against Bayern and the wins in the league have made people forget some of the early season howlers, his general body language, admitting Liverpool were favourites and all the other nonsense that has gone on this season.

A good question was raised on the caf

Next season which team would finish higher

Team A "The exact same team as this season (if you take out Vidic etc going) but managed by Klopp/Van Gaal"

Team B "A team with 200m of Moyes signings"

I honestly don't know due to not knowing who the signings would be, but my money would likely be on Team A.

Ferrari could build the singular greatest car that F1 has ever seen, with no rival, but if you put James May at the wheel, you aren't winning any races

I wonder how many times you've said that while supporting United, now you know how a Spurs fan feels. smile

This is the first (and hopefully last) time smile

Although I have wanted the season over and the games done before, but for slightly different reasons smile

Every year up until my 21st. I remember the bad times only too well and the current set up worries me that we're heading back that way at a rate of knots.

Can't see that happening, the powers that be at United will jump in before it gets to that stage.

As this is PH, may I suggest Jackie Stewart as the next United manager.
He showed James May how to trim 20 seconds off a lap of Oulton Park.

http://tviv.org/Top_Gear/Season_8_Episode_5

Just noodling here as we don't have a game.

If Moyes is still around next season I think he gets 6-8 games. Out of the top 4 after that (assuming he gets 100m to spend) he's toast.

I'm kinda resigned to him being here next season, that's why I want this season done, I think he'll be heavily backed in the summer but the players will be 'board approved'.

At least that way we have the unknown and can build a bit of excitement pre season

ETA

What I really hope for is new owners. I'd like Scholes, Nev (G), Giggsy and even Becks if he fancied it involved at all levels (Coaching, Scouting, U21 etc) with a young forward thinking manager at the helm

The games changed massively in 26 years and having the Glazer debt off our backs and a root and branch reform would set us up for the next 26

How do you get rid of the Glazer debt without creating more debt? Even a bored Sheikh or Russian is likely to want something back in time before they get bored.

Does it have to be a Sheik or a Russian, there must be others? We can run some debt just not as much and I feel the Glazers were very wedded to SAF

Watching the match that is on. Y'know: over there.
Which United players, if fit, would be in either sides' starting XI?
RVP?
Wazza?
De Gea?
All maybes.
That's why our season ended before Easter.

I'm not even sure Utd in their pomp played at the pace when breaking that LPool are at the moment did they - maybe when Ronny was there. Utd need some PACE for next season ...
