I'm not even sure Utd in their pomp played at the pace when breaking that LPool are at the moment did they - maybe when Ronny was there. Utd need some PACE for next season ...
The 93 team played with exceptional pace for that period. That pace shredded the opposioitiom. Agree on the other comment though that our starting XI is nowhere near at the level of the top 3. You did forget Mata in your list.

My oversight. Just now Mata is our best player.Agree on the other comment though that our starting XI is nowhere near at the level of the top 3. You did forget Mata in your list.

Not having that! The 2008 team would be more than a match for this Liverpool side. As you say the one with Ronnie. But prior to that sharpe, kankchelkis and Giggs all in the same team had just a little pace! How do you pick which side was united in their pomp with so many to choose? We've been spoilt!
Agree on the need for pace for next season though!
This seasons liverpool team remind me of Blackburn with shearer and sutton.....it's all come together but a new period of domination? I doubt it. One season wonders and will Saurez stay for 10 years? Will he fk.
Okay, fair play - but imo NO team will dominate like Utd have done for years - the others have all caught up and you've slipped back due to underinvestment in the team plus SAF has gone - so the playing field is a bit more level ...
Expect the top four places to be anyone four from 5/6 maybe in the future ...

Again agreed but what do you do? Bin a man like Fergie? No you indulge his greatness then have to suffer a little as a result. Parts of his recent book read like a sonnet to the likes of Giggsy, Scholes et al. He definitely got soft in his old age and we are now suffering as a result of this. 10 years ago he wouldn't have dreamed of recalling scholesy from retirement, signing an ageing RVP or putting up with the likes of Anderson or Nani but he did and he still kept winning! The man was a one off! A year or so trophy less is worth it in my mind. Alpinestars said:
Carvalho deal looks like it's going through.
I have seen talkste reporting it no one else, inside info?On the one hand I would be pleased, looks to be a very good player, on the other if we are finalising deals with DM still in charge, then one would assume he will remain in charge next season?

Are these the same sources that confirmed Ronnie et al were confirmed last summer?
Oi! I was enjoying this. The World Cup won’t provide much solace between now and the start of next season, so we need some straws to cling to.
We can but dream.
I have a dream that the Glazers fall foul of FFP due to over investment.

Probably - why would players in demand sign for a side tht will probably be outside of the Champions League and may not have the same manager. Can never understand players signing for a club where the manager is in doubt e.g. Why would anyone sign for Spurs until you know who is replacing Tim.markh1973 said:
