A very reliable source informed me that he was "sacked" for demanding too much of the board, he basically gave the board a list of players and said "these are the players I want", the board didn't move for any of the players he wanted and ML became frustrated with Swansea's lack of ambition.

Bring on Cantona! It would be worth it just for the post-match press calls.

He'd get arrested during his first 2 weeks. Didn't he get arrested again a few weeks ago? Just the sort of idiot to lead by example.

Jose should have been given the job.

He's one of the few managers who would have waltzed in and completely ignored SAF and his baleful influence. Indeed, I'd wager that he'd have a dig at old red nose during his first press conference.

Interesting.
Not the same story I heard. Lost the respect from the players, due to things like jetting off for a few days holiday after a big loss. We did play attractive football under him, but then those foundations were laid with Martinez and Rodgers.

So it would appear that DM is Man Utd's third most successful manager ever after SAF and Ernest Mangnall. He even beat Sir Matt into 4th place!!

why isn't Frank DeBoer being mentioned more?

He will be Barcelona manager in the not too distant future and then we'll be saying why didn't we get him.

He has done very well at Ajax, and actually built and developed there, understands free flowing attacking football, can be a hard arse when needed, will have the respect of the players, a good scouting network, fresh ideas and he would probably come.

Well, all I can say is that LFC better win the league or there's gonna be some seriously pissed off scousers, more pissed off than United fans now that Moyes has gone.

I think they all seem to think its sewn up already.....

Not at all. Nearly all of us (on PH anyway), only expected to challenge for top four this season. I think we're all just delighted to be guaranteed top three. Anything more is just a bonus.

Spot on Jammy, spot on dear boy. Three Istanbuls to go, we've won fk all so far but CL group stage is a mega achievement! party

This ^^^. I'd like to see Man C drop a few more points before I even start to really believe we can do it. For us to win 14 games straight would be an almost unbelievable achievement, I believe we're going to drop some somewhere in the last 3 games, and with Man C (and Chelsea) so close behind we need them to drop some more too before feeling it's really gonna happen.

But I'd rather be where we are now, than where they are! smile

It's also great, as an LFC fan, to be debating whether we're going to win the league and CL qualification on the Manu thread whilst they're languishing down in.... well I dunno where they are, but I know it's no where near fourth.

Maybe they'll soon be able to play the current team vs The Class of '92 in training as they'll all be on the coaching staff... ?

Pull Neville in and get DB back from Miami and then get that bloke who nobody ever heard of who was in the pics ...
